Too many Stems. I assume these are a Georgia variety. The greens themselves are awesome in taste, now this is after you remove all of the stems. I bought a bag, and cooked the greens without removing the stems, and they were horrible. Since I do not like Texas collards here in OKC, I bought 3 bags for a Sunday dinner get together. BY THE TIME I HAD ALL OF THE HUGE STEMS REMOVED, it took me 2 hours. I saw stems as long as 3 inches, and 1/2 round. I will give 3 stars for taste, but Rawls you guys has got to do better on the production stage. I am done with these in Walmart until they get control of the stem issue. They may eat a ton of stems in SC, but naaah not in Oklahoma. Now I see them at Walmart with yellow stickers on them a day before they throw them away. I see the yellow stickers quite a bunch at Walmart, which means they are not selling. Fix the stems guys.
Too many stems. 9 ounces of stems in a 32 ounce package. See photo to see the types of stems included. If you do not mind picking through the bag for 20 minutes you will find the greens tasty. But I bought the bag for convenience .
Fresh is best. However, I think that these greens are probably old. Maybe they aren't popular, but they looked discolored. Also, there were so many stems. I had to pick some out...the brown ones. They tasted really bitter and were tough to chew.
