love the whirly-bird. They seem to save water by not spraying too fine a mist. Coverage is great. Overall great product.
This Nelson model is weighted, so wind + water pressure doesn't flip it over like the light weight sprinklers. I bought one in 2008 and it's still working fine, so I've added 2 more to cover more territory faster. Circulating arms put water into the lawn more evenly than overhead spray types that lose water to wind evaporation and rotating arm lockup problems.
I've only used it once so far but it seems to work very well. Spreads the water out pretty far.
wow.. so just bought a house... its middle of summer and my grass is starting to turn brown... I was distraught. I watered twice a week due to water restrictions. It didn't help, more and more grass turned brown and died... I tried every product (4-5 products with 5 star reviews# I could think of... nothing worked until I stumbled upon the Nelson Whirling sprinkler. That was the only change I had made, and I started seeing results #brown grass started turning green again) after 2 weeks. Now a few months later all my grass is green and growing again. What a relief!
This works well but for some reason there is water that goes straight up, which is not what the product description was.
