I see a lot of people giving negative reviews for this blaster and I must say it is one of the best NERF guns out right now. Nerf had to put so many restrictions into this blaster so that it is not too powerful. With a little work mine gets around 80' and shoots rather hard. The twin pack was definatly a great deal. So don't discard it because you think it under-performs, just fiddle with it so it can perform the way it was meant to.
I bought this for the boys on Black Friday this year at Walmart and gave it to them for Christmas this morning. It was a deal at 10.00 for the 2pk, but it just doesn't work well. You have to pump it 3-4 times for each dart and the darts don't go very far. The oldest boy got distracted because of the work involved and the little one couldn't manage the gun and all the pumping. Just doesn't work well and will probably end up being donated or going in the garbage. I would spend the extra money and purchase a higher end Nerf gun.
You have to pump the gun 3 times before the gun can shoot any distance, and even then it isn't that far. I have two five year olds who can pump the gun once and barely do it twice. It then fires with no distance with the two pumps. I defintely would not recommend this gun. We then went back and purchased the N-strike nerf pistol you only pull it back once got plenty of distance, has the 6 chambers rotating barrel and both 5 year olds are able to use these. they were only $8 a piece. They were a much better gun.
