We partial froze the meat we were making jerky with, so we could cut it 1/4 thick. This went right thru the meat and gave very uniform slices. We haven't used it for anything else yet. But we sure have made a lot of jerky. Even did some deer jerky for a hunter friend.
I sliced a roast beef like it was a hot knife through butter. My old slicer broke so I ordered this one. It came in only three days and I used it right away. A lot bigger than my old one and much easier to use. The handle made it easy to cut all of the roast beef without having to change a thing.
I have used it once to slice tomatoes and onions for a cookout. It sliced real easy and smooth . Clean up was easy to do .
Well packaged, fast delivery. I have sliced raw meats as well as cooked meats with no problem. Works great for veggies and hard cheeses as well. This motor will not bog down with any job I've put to it so far. Clean up is easy, no tools needed! The blade is VERY sharp so be careful. Suggest you read and follow the safety directions! Cuts the best jerky slices, and my family loves their jerky. It does not have a catch tray, but a plate at the rear works great. I've had many slicers over the years and this one is right up at the top. Best price I found was at Walmart, saved over 80.00 buying here over other on-line sites for the same slicer. I am very pleased with this purchase. You won't be disappointed!
I've had this slicer for a few weeks and have cut sausage, cheese and roast beef. Slows down a bit with cheese, but does a great job. Also great on everything else I've tried. Cleaning is a good news/bad news thing. The parts come off so I can clean them in the sink, but they are a bit cumbersome. Despite what some others have said, I had no problem removing, cleaning and resetting the blade. They may have improved that aspect since the other comments. It says to turn it off for an hour after 10 minutes of use. I sliced three different cheeses and a 1 pound summer sausage, and only turned it off between jobs. No problem. Overall, this is a great slicer for home use.
its a $100.00 paper weight. The price was eight so I thought I would give it a try. I have great peo knoves, but just tired of the mundane cutting. This toy will just take of shelf space for most of us. It's great for tomatoes(I'm sure qhile the blade is new), suck at everything else. The blade revolves ro slowly to be really good for any work. It couldn't handle onions and it made a mess when I tried to cut potatoes for french fries. I tried to give tge machine a chance and wasn't forcing the food on the blade, but it still couldn't handle the job. I attempted to cut a roast for jerky and it was a nightmare. A chef hint here, if you want to know how good a slicer is fry cutting a moist cheese. i didn't even try with this peice of junk. i tossed it in the dumpster because it was worth the stess and money to send it back. unless you like being frustrated pass on this landfill space taker.. Despite the good reviews, this was not a good purchase for me. I bought this for my husband for Christmas. A couple days later he tried to use it to slice beef for jerky and the blade was warped and not secure. My husband almost cut off his finger. I would not recommend this slicer.
Pretty sure this one is going back. I should have just bought the "Professional" slicer for the $270 and been happier. I figured that this was one of the "better" low end slicers but I was wrong. Not worth the money even though it's fairly cheap. So I bought this because we are always buying deli meats. I figured I can get the meat in bulk for half the cost and slice at home. In principle it should work. I got this in, and sliced some hard salami. The motor bogged down, started to smell "hot". When it was all done, I started to clean it and found some unknown black residue. It has a 180Watt power supply. THIS SHOULD SLICE HARD STUFF without any problem. The handle that holds the food in place only backs away from the slicer about 5 to 7 inches (not enough for a lot of the stuff being sliced on this). Seems very clunky to use. Blade looks warped, its a serrated edge blade so it's "chewing" food as you slice it. Right up until I started to use it I was very impressed with this unit. Then I turned it on. The thickness adjustment may as well just be an "on slice" or "off slice" mode as it is useless as far as selecting how thick you want something. I had it set between "P or Park 0 clearance" and 1 and it was still very thick. I WANTED IT SHAVED... Slices are inconsistent. There is no way to sharpen this blade like with more expensive models. Slicing something that is not stiff or ridged is probably best as the shoot is very narrow and won't allow for hard items to fall without being snapped. Pros: It's cheap. Easy to clean
Used to slice 1/2 roll of sasuage and it started smoking. It wasn't under any real load and sliced very nice.
Never got a chance to use this slicer. Took it out of the box, plugged it in, turned it on and the motor started changing speed randomly on its own and was laboring immediately. As well very apparent the slice guide plate is not properly aligned with the cutting blade.....overall is just poor quality....will be returning for refund. Zero Stars
