The screen provides he visual that was definitely missing on speaker versions of Google Home. Detailed weather, recipes, etc... Works well with Nest Hello doorbell, automatically displays camera view at door when someone rings the bell. You can also have hub display slide show of recent photos on your phones camera roll. The screen is a bit smaller than I thought but adequate. Sams delivered very quickly and as described. Nice purchase.
I decided to upgrade my Google home and could not be happier. The microphone is more sensitive and can hear me across the room. The screen is excellent and in the morning it displays accidents and traffic slow downs. I can't wait to explore all the features it can do.
I haven't used it too much since I got it. The few times I have used it I love it. I like the fact that I can look at recipes and still use my phone if needed. I live in a split level home and I have changed my locks to keypads and have purchased smart plugs. I have everything connected so I can turn lights on and lock doors all over the house without having to go downstairs. I am also one of those people who doesn't keep track of my phone at all times so now all I have to do is ask google to find my phone.
This is the third Google Nest Hub I purchased and I enjoy each everyone. Very easy setup and even easier to use. I never have to get up from my chair to find out information or to search for my phone. I can get the weather, movies times, see photo albums, adjust my Nest thermostat, watch YouTube videos, listen to music, set alarms, make appointments, make phone calls, cooking videos, find the best route to work and ETA before I leave the house and many more things. Best of all, I can do it all with moving a muscle! Life hasn't been any easier. Now only if it could fix dinner.
I got this for Christmas and love it
It has limited control and instead if answering a question sometimes it just shows you a web site. When I asked it to open pandora it did something in the background but didn't even show me the login page if it needed to be logged in before it could play the music. I need more controlled devices to see it work though. It's a work in progress!
This is a wonderful digital assistant. I have mine in the kitchen and I use it for meal prep assistance if I'm trying a new recipe. I can play music or even watch Netflix on it. It's very responsive and the screen is big enough to easily see, yet not too big to take up a lot of real estate on your counters. The sound is much more than adequate. The base and treble balance is great. Well worth the price!
I replaced a Google Home Mini with the Home Hub and have been very pleased. It is very responsive and gives a ton of information, both verbally and visually. It easily connects with other smart devices and the other day, it announced someone at the front door, then automatically showed the camera video on the screen (using Nest Hello).
One of the main reasons I purchased the Google Home Hub was to have video chats with family who live in another part of the country. In none of the information that I was able to find, no mention was made that a 2 way video call was possible. Only one party, the calling party, can see the other. It has been frustrating and disappointing not to be able to do this.
It is a pretty neat device. I like that it interacts with my Nest cameras and Chromecast TVs allowing me to stream the nest cameras on the big TV screen. The Hubs small screen size is annoying an is only good for viewing from close to the screen. Still learning other capabilities.
