I have business Comcast service at my house and had struggled with the wired extensions they included in their plan. The Comcast extensions were truly horrible in every way so I decided to try this instead. The PoE feature was a bonus so I didn't need to place it where I have a power outlet. It's been up and running for a week now with no outages or slowdowns - very unlike the Comcast extension. This has been rock solid and great range to the entire floor above where I have it located.
This access point was fairly easy to setup, with tons of options both locally on the network and through the Netgear Insight app for configuration afterwards. This can be set up simply or if you have networking experience, you can set it up with many more controls.
I like the AP's and they work well. I like to ap that alerts you when an ap is down. It is a little frustrating though as I purchased 3 AP's in a bundle, installed 2 of them with no issues at all and when i went to install the 3rd, i had to purchase a 3rd license. The app works will but is limited in functionality and to be able to change the pw remotely, you have to upgrade the the premium service. I will probably continue to install the WAC510 as it seems to be a good product.
I initially set up the WAP manually since I am an old school techie and it was very simple. I later used the netgear app to take over the device and convert it to cloud management. Again very simple and now I get alerts about the status right on my phone 24x7 from anywhere.
We currently have about 35 WAC-510s deployed at various clients with great success! As a MSP we need a multi-tenant administration portal and Insight hits the mark. The ease of configuration, deployment and reporting makes the WAC-510 and the rest of the Insight line makes it a easy choice for our AP of choice.
It was really easy to add this device to my network. Once it was in place and I configured it to have multiple SSID's to split device and use certain was for my office environment.I would highly recommend this device, for any home office or small business.
I tried several extenders to have good wifi coverage in our 3000 sq ft house and up to this point had mediocre success. Until I came across this Netgear access point device. What a difference! Almost a dozen devices get uninterrupted full strength signal all day. Thank you Netgear.
I am not a computer guy, but I was able to install these with POE and set them up seamlessly. Great packaging, great app, configuration was a breeze. I installed 3 of them in my house (a little overkill) but you can move room to room and even outside with no interruption. Highly recommend!
The product is working as it should so far, but I believe the instructions for setup are a little vague as it was not totally clear to a novice installer. Those with experience probably have no issues but I struggled almost to the point of searching for a utube for as I started to look it became clear what I needed yet to do.
I just purchased the WAC510. I am upgrading our Wi-FI to a business grade cloud managed system from NETGEAR. I am still testing all the features and functions and so far, it is meeting all the standards I need. Easy setup and deployment and I can manage it from my Smart phone.
