I'm retired now from a major automobile manufacturer. Communications of machinery to GUIs, (Graphic User Interface), was one of my primary jobs. If I had been able to use this NETGEAR Nighthawk AC2600, I would have been thrilled! This Nighthawk is the easiest to set up, best performing and most user friendly router that I have ever used...and I have used many. I can even turn wi-fi on and off to the different devices on my network with my cell-phone! The software provided is amazing. When you get yours, make sure that you look at and try all the functions. I am sure you will agree with me...it is the 'Best You Ever Had'!!!
Very complicated set up and time needed to coincide and get operational with Spectrum internet, etc. Many hours on the phone with Netgear and Spectrum. Nice unit now that it is on.
This router is awesome! I replaced the router my ISP had given me with the nighthawk. What a difference I can get a full WiFi signal anywhere in my house also in the back/front yard a big plus, considering I have arlo cameras and a ring doorbell. The 5G is amazing if you are streaming 4K over Netflix. Range is not as impressive so you will want the router closer to anything you would want to connect over 5G but it still beats the original router. Don’t expect this to increase your internet speed anything over what you are paying for from your provider, if you were like me and using their equipment they provide and usually charge you for each month more than likely it’s going to cause a bottle neck as far as speed goes. I attached some speed tests before and after you can see the nighthawk performs much better. Easy set up has an app that helps you get everything set up and updated. Overall this thing is full of power I would recommend it to anyone looking to get a better WiFi distance and faster speeds also something that’s pretty much plug and play this has a permanent home where my old router used to be. I received this router from Netgear as a part of a test and review program.
I was using my internet provider's router and my daughter would always complain to me she would get disconnected during her online gaming with her PS4. My whole house runs off internet so I decided to dish out the cash and buy this router. I asked my daughter if she was still getting disconnected and she told me no. She also said the lag stopped. I have a total of about 15 devices hooked up to my Nighthawk router-XBOX One,Smart TV's,Firestick etc. and everything works great. I live in a big apartment and my signal is excellent. I am definitely happy with my purchase!
Installation for the router is easy enough. Interface to get things set up is a breeze when it comes to their app that they provide. Router does not overheat so far even in the shelf that we use it on. Does not interfere with other devices around it, which is a plus. Highly recommend this product due to the fact that we already have a few others from the same company. Which is why we decided to purchase this item.
Overall this is a very solid router! However, Netgear's user interface is incredibly sluggish and REQUIRES you to create an account on their website, which was annoying. The setup literally will not let you proceed until you have created an account on Netgear's website. Barring this, it is still a very solid router.
Arrived in brown box, it was used. Try to set up, but there is no QR code, no instruction. Take 1 hours long to figure it out, but still couldn’t fix it. I read many low stars reviews, they have the same problem like mine. So I guess, I have to return it. Bought a couple netgear router products at Walmart before, but never have this kind of problem. I feel so disappointed.
While the product powered up, it would not recognize my Spectrum Internet connection. I tried troubleshooting but still nothing. The literature included in the box was worthless for troubleshooting and referred me to a web address, which of course, I could not connect to. There was no phone number to call. I know the issue is not with my Internet connection as I bought a TP-Link router, installed it, and the connection worked right away. I do not recommend the Netgear product.
Never used the item itself. I tried canceling my order 20 minutes after placing it, but obviously nobody at Walmart reads emails, and they sent it anyway. Fortunately my local Walmart refunded me with no hassle
First off Netgear makes you sign up for an account so you can register your router. And that's so they can track what you view while using their equipment and they have your email address so they can sell your information to third parties. It's no more simple than that. But what really annoyed me is that when I go to Netgear's site, there's a firmware update. Halfway through the update netgears site shut down which then corrupted the firmware. Which essentially bricked my brand new router completely. When I tried to call their customer service. You don't actually speak to anyone as they force you to do everything through text chats. And during that chat, the rep told me to hang on. Ten minutes later they come back, as though I have nothing better to do than deal with them too begin with. The rep began asking if I could just take it back to the store. When I got back to Walmart I found out that there was a 30-day return policy on electronics. I was at day 36. I then contacted Netgear who proceeds to give you an RMA. That way you can ship it back to them to get fixed or replaced. Whatever is going to go on. But yet you then again have to pay for that to be shipped to them which cost around $20 for me. Negating any savings that I got from buying this online through Walmart? So no I would never recommend this use. I would never recommend Netgear.
