I found this device is lighting fast as far as WiFi, one of the best routers I had yet. And the multiuse for 4G / LTE works extremely well, it has 2 inputs for TS-9 antennas. You can put it on any network (AT
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works 100 times better than the generic router the cable company gave us! All of my alarms, cable and computers run much better without intermittent interruptions.
Old router died. Bought L******* brand; Only set available is via cell phone - poo-poo max grande. (Tech term.) Netgear would allow set up via IP addr. 192.168.1.1 on attached network computer. AND let my Internet feed run at full 500 MB speed!! Two ports are feeding two 24 port switches at 1000BaseT - 13 computers, 4 laptops, 8 NASs, and 3 printers; plus a couple of WiFi devices. Would recommend.
Great signal and did exactly what I needed it to excluding the SIM card functionality but that could be because of some configuration issues with the service provider. I just plugged in my nighthawk M6 into the WAN port of this one and it bridged over perfectly and I still have functionality of the gigabyte switch to run dedicated hard lines to my server and tower. which was the real purpose of the purchase. Ironically, the nighthawk took over control of the WiFi completely so instead of having 4 broadcast SSID's I still only have the 2 SSID's.
Quite a nice router, nice app access to it. We have satellite internet access, which gets impacted by sky conditions during weather events. We also have a very weak mobile network signal here, so wifi calling works best for us. We use a GlocalMe mobile hotspot with a T-Mobile connected SIM during stormy conditions and satellite internet is out. Unfortunately, the Nighthawk 4G LTE 6 AX1800 does not connect well to the weak signal, not as well as the GlocalMe mobile hotspot does, even with a couple of small whip antennas added. We are not able to use the SIM in the AX1800. So, the SIM went back into the GlocalMe - hence the 4 stars rather than 5. I suppose if we installed a mobile network directional antenna and amplifier it might work, so if we come to feel strongly enough about it we could try that. Otherwise, its been a great update for our old Netgear WNR2000 that cost a little more than the non LTE capable model.
This router is everything i expected. I live out in the country. About 20 miles from civilization, so there are no other options for internet, besides satellite. And thats no good for gaming. My primary use. The netgear nighthawk 4g lte wifi 6 router provides exactly what i need. Thatnk you netgear
Just ok, nothing to get excited about. My NG6100D gateway booted up much faster. I could set up security along with many other things myself. It also had signal strength on the unit itself. I can't tell a difference in speed.
This is the worst Netgear router I ever had. My son convinced me to purchase to replace another Netgear router that was working perfectly fine. He claims this one would give me a faster speed than what I was getting with the old router. I have not seen it yet. In fact it's slower. I cannot get into the app that I downloaded on my cell phone. Password won't work. I am at a loss as to what to do. Therefore I am just appalled because this one cost 3 times more than the router that I previously used.
Honestly, the worst router I've ever owned. Randomly certain devices WILL NOT connect to the 2.4GHz network. I had to pull my old router out and connect it to this one for the devices to be able to connect. The user interface for the iOS app and web portal are clunky and slow. The app and website keep trying to sell me additional services that I DO NOT WANT, and I can't tell it to stop annoying me about them. I've debated returning it, but the LTE connectivity works mostly and that's the main reason I bought it.
Netgear 4G LTE Ax1800 (LAX20) loses its connection to the cellular network every 5-10 minutes. Often requiring a reboot to reconnect which takes about 5 minutes to perform. I am using verizon network which the ad states this device is accepted for but other sources say it is not. Works fine when connected but rarely is connected. Will probably be returning this device if It does not improve.
