We changed from Comcast to Brightridge for Internet service. Purchased new router to go with new service. We have had 0 problems with streaming TV programs or exploring internet from anywhere in the house. All devices work as well as if we were sitting beside of the router from anywhere in the house.
Needed a router that would cover 1800 sq feet and Handel 15 items without interruption. This nighthawk did that and more without issue. Set up was easy compared to older models, just install the app on your phone and you’ll be up in 5. About time they made it easy!
I bought this from a recommendation from my internet guy. It is great. I work from home and my internet kept dropping my calls. So far this has fixed the problem. Thank you!
Item was purchased only because we needed WiFi 6 as we had too many smart devices in the home for our wifi 5 router which is also a NETGEAR Nighthawk model. Very impressed by its ability to handle all our devices plus the increase in speed. See attached pic.
The router works great. The setup is much worse than older models that used only the "genie". Routerlogin.net redirects to a useless page. Tech Support says an update is pending. and pending... and pending. Ironically, I only upgraded because Netgear stopped upgrading my older model. Save yourself the headache and get something else, but test their tech support first.
It's a router. Nothing fancy, flashy or sexy. It does what it's suppose to do. Bought it for the new fiber internet we finally got and after four months it's done it's job without any hick-ups. The only reason for four stars instead of five is because you have to have an app to set it up. It needs to be idiot proof during set up, as not everyone is familiar with routers like the younger generation and they require a subscription for security. I thought it would be a piece of cake to get started, but after two days of struggling with it and still not being online I ended up calling in some youth to get me hooked up. I don't regret buying it, just wish it was simpler to get online with it initially. I would buy it again.
The unit is sold as brand new but it turned out to be refurbished so the warranty stated is not true but has a less warranty. Unit seems to work ok but I had to buy 3 Yr. service plan.
Disappointing experience because getting two of these routers for $300 would have been a deal. Long story short checked off 'sold by' and 'fulfilled by' Walmart. In this case Walmart only fulfilled the order. Marketplace vendor sold the repackaged units. Moving forward I will only buy higher end electronics from Walmart through store walk in. Edit: will update review with pictures of units as they were delivered
Not compatible with many ISP cable routers and unable to reliably connect or maintain connection to the internet.
The region on this router is locked to China and cannot be changed to the U.S. This affects the WIFI channels that may be used. I'm returning this today.
