Because I have to place my Orbi cable modem router on one side of the house, the signal needs a little help on the opposite side of the house. The wall plug satellite is perfect and provides that extra coverage I need for the couple of bedrooms that are somewhat blocked off by walls from the main signal. Set up is extremely easy with the Orbi app, but I'm glad I can configure the more advanced settings from my computer as well. Definitely worth the investment.
I needed a product that would extend the WiFi coverage from one apartment building to another. I tried all the other repeaters and extenders. But this one did not lose speed and was easy set up. It even has an app that can make it more easy to reboot the main router without having physical access to it.
Easy set up. Wide coverage despite thick walls with 2 pug in satellites. Excellent download/uploading speed
This is the best wifi system I have purchased. This was my third system and has been flawless since I installed it. It has simple set up, a guest wifi set up and parental control for content. We have a smart home with Amazon Alexa and a total of 22 devices connected to the Orbi system and have no issues what so ever.
I bought the ac2200/RBK30 Jan 3 2018. It replaced an HP commercial class MSM720 Wireless Controller, an HP 425 WAP and an MSM 460 WAP - configured in a mesh. Needless to say the Orbi is far easier to configure, but, it has been rock solid and has provided us with reliable wireless access in our home as well as in the immediate area outside. Our connection speeds rarely exceeded 100Mb and usually were 75Mb/sec even when standing next to the WAP. With the Orbi we're consistently seeing 125MB/sec or faster depending on the device. And the connections are reliable and transition between the satellite and router seamlessly. Very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend the Orbi!
I bought this system because it simplified my WiFi design. Direct cable to the modem, and already on mesh. I have a total of 2 network devices (both Orbi) providing Internet to a large home. Love how easy the setup was too! Thanks for helping to cleanup my setup!
Great coverage, Greater speeds than what I have with my isp. And best of I'm not constantly resetting it and having to reset my HomeKit. Plug it in and forget about it. Love it when thing simply work they way they should. Thx and Best Regards, Greg
Before we tried Orbi, unless you were near the router, the wifi signal was weak with random dead zones all over the house. The one thing our kids asked for for Christmas was better wifi. So glad we discovered Orbi!! Finally, we have reliable wifi throughout the entire house!!
Great addition to my wifi system. Gives the extra coverage needed to reach the wireless security cameras on the outside of my home.
They work as advertised. I subtracted one star due to difficulty updating the firmware. Mine are stuck at 2.3.0.4 and when I use the web portal at orbilogin.com, they don't show that there's any update available (after clicking "check" for updates). After trying to manually update the firmware and downloading / unzipping the downloaded firmware, it gives me a CHK file. The support documentation says that the firmware will be either "CHK" or "IMG" - so I go to upload the firmware, but then receive an error message that says the file is NOT supported, and MUST be in "IMG" format. So the download link they provide for the firmware is rejected by their own portal. I try re-naming the CHK extension to IMG, which is accepted - but the end of the upload process results in an error (the file is not a valid update file). Not quite sure how to get the latest update to 2.5.0.2
