I bought this to hook up my computer and my PS3 to my Comcast high speed internet. The hook-up was cake! They give you a little book with pictures of each step.If you can see you can do it! Although the hook up was easy for some reason it didn't work @ 1st so i had to call customer service although they were foreign like others on here have said you can totally understand them(unlike some others) and the lady that helped me with my issue was the best I have ever had in ANY technical support! She was so polite,actually knew what she was talking about, and took her time to walk me threw each step. Since obtaining this product and seeing for my self how good it was and even better how great the customer service and technical support is I have recommended it to all of my customers and sold MANY a few have even came back and said how much they liked it! I love the styling of all of there products they are defiantly some of the best looking electronic devices on the market. I would expect to spend much more on such a great product but there prices can't be beat. Truly a great product, especially if your not good with computers! What are you waiting for? Come pick one up @ your local Electronics Department today!
I have AT&T DSL and it doesn't work with it without using another router that has a telephone jack on it, like Westell or 2Wire that you have to get from AT&T or used from eBay, so I returned it. Also if you have AT&T DSL and Direct TV be sure you have phone filters on the phone lines that goes to your Direct TV boxes because I went through a lot of grief with losing internet connection on and off daily and no one at AT&T could tell me what was going on! I had AT&T to do a line test that didn't show any problem, so they sent a Tech out and he figured it out. Thank God!!
I bought this so my Xbox and MacBook could be hooked up simultaneously. It does just that. My MacBook receives the internet through Airport Express and my Xbox is hooked up directly. I watch Netflix on Xbox without any trouble and can use the internet on my computer at the same time without any service problem. Once you set up your computer on the router everything else just plugs in and works. I was able to set my Mac up without too much trouble but I wouldn't say it was the easiest set up that I have done. BTW my internet is through the cable company.
This product has worked great and I'm absolutely satisfied. After two unsuccessful attempts to get a linksys BEFSR41 router working I ordered this one online. I'm an engineer and tech savy; LINKSYS ROUTER constantly dropped me offline and suffered from SLOW response when it was online. I called Linksys tech service, changed router settings NO GOOD!! returned the router and tried again with a second Linksys BEFSR41 thinking the first one was defective - same results!! - gave up! returned second linksys router and was told at Walmart service desk that three of these had been returned besides mine that same day - one customer said Time Warner Cable came out and tried to install & configure the router for them and THEY gave up. BUT*************** I read positive on-line reviews for Netgear RP614v4 here at Walmart.com ordered online because it's not available in the store!!! - I didn't want to wait for a shipment THAT'S WHY I PAID MORE FOR LINKSYS in the first place BECAUSE IT WAS IN THE STORE. WALMART NEEDS TO GET THIS NETGEAR MODEL IN THE STORE AND DUMP LINKSYS. NETGEAR RP614V4 IS MORE COMPACT WORKS FANTASTIC, EASY TO SET-UP, LOOKS GREAT, COST LESS!!! MUCH MORE APPEALING THAN LINKSYS AND VERY HIGH TECH WITH NUMERICAL INFORMATIVE DISPLAY !!! SWEET!!! BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY IT WORKS GREAT -- WALMART BAG LINKSYS! STOCK NETGEAR MODEL RP614V4 IN STORE. YOU'VE GOT TO BE LOSING MONEY ON ALL THESE RETURNED LINKSYS ROUTERS. This review is coming to you via the Netgear router and that fact is transparent to me - AS IT SHOULD BE!!!
This was an easy networking system to set up I think comcast had more trouble hooking a new modemn in then i had putting both computers on this network. I am very pleased with it and highly recommend it if your going to network computers in your home.
I recently purchased this router and it's wonderful, at first I couldn't get connected, then I called the number on the product and the technical department walked me through and I am very happy and pleased and called my sister and suggested to her to go out and purchase the same product. It should be in every store, but it's not so I had to do some searching and I called around until I found the product I wanted. Thank you for always having outstanding prices as well
WOW! I LOVE THIS ROUTER! I went through all the Linksys routers and let me tell you this, THEY ARE NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL! This router on the other hand is very much user friendly, with the disk that comes with it, and the online settings, This is the only router that was easy for me to config online settings to not block me from certain programs I use. I love this router so much, that I'm planning on buying 2 more in the near future, just to have as back up whenever this one decides to die. You want an amazing Wired Router? This one is for you.
this router works great no issues i had problem with the messengers like yahoo aim ect i contacted the customer care center by e-mail they help me go threw it and the messengers works great no more disconnecting messenger .. i set up my play station 3 to the router and it works great ..the set up is soo easy is like pushing the power button to the remote control.. the soft ware will tell you what you need to do it shows picture how to set up your router i use windows vista i use
I have installed a Belkin router and a D-Link router on other computers before. This was by far the easiest and most straight forward one of all. It automatically found the proper settings and I believe even someone who has never had to work with TCP/IP settings could install it. PS, it is also working great!
I dont know much about computers and i bought a lap top and wanted to still keep my desktop too. I purchased this router because of its good reviews it recieved and the price. I couldnt be happier with my purchase. It was very easy to hook up and get running. I would recommend this to new users who need things to be as simple as possible. This is a great product for the money.
