I'm a redhead with fair skin and I usually burn, burn, burn. Bought this product to use on a Caribbean cruise, used it according to directions and it worked like a charm! I'd buy stock in this stuff if I could!
This spray on suncreen drys fast and is easy to use. I use to dislike the waiting time for the sunscreens to dry since I did not have a lot of time to get ready in the morning.
I used this product on 3 occasions. I was in the Florida summer sun from morning till sundown. Completely protected me. BUT, all three times, I got a nasty case of dermatitis ALL OVER ME! Have used a competing product at other times with excellent results, and no rash. The competing product was heavier on my skin, but no resulting rash. I suggest you experiment with Spectrum+ on a small area of your skin before covering yourself in it. I can't use it due to the resulting rash.
I teach swimming lessons hours upon hours daily. And now my family is in Destin, Florida. We have 12 empty bottles sitting on the counter and need more tomorrow. It works perfectly, if used correctly.. All 5 of us (even a 4 year old and 2 teenagers) are NOT sunburned and we have been in the sun for hours on our vacation. You must apply it indoors, let it dry for a couple of minutes, then GO! It works perfectly if used perfectly.
I was at warped tour (an all day music festival), and that meant being outside from 10am to 9:30pm. It was 90 degrees in the shade and there weren't any clouds. I'm extremely fair skinned and I used this sunscreen every two hours and it worked like a charm! I didn't re apply as strongly one time because I still turned slightly pink in random spots, but still it's absolutely fantastic considering my skin type to not have ANY painful sunburn! I strongly recommend it!
The only issue I have is with the spray nozzle cap. The previous spray nozzle with removable cap worked very well. The newer "twist to spray" cap is not functional. It takes an extreme amount of pressure to get the product to spray. Set the can on the counter and press down with both hands....but then it's hard to be in front of the spray.
The spray can is difficult to direct, too much overspray, wastes expensive product. It would be much better in a regular screw-top container and less expensive to to manufacture.
I applied on the river once every two hours and still got burned. In the areas on my back, which I cant see, I couldnt tell if it is spraying the chemical or aerosal, so I have a great looking sunburn on my back. I recommend sticking with the lotion.
Neutrogena Sunblocks don't work. I used this and applied several times during the day and I got the worst sunburn in my life. It was the equivalent of not using anything. Other people used a generic brand that was just SPF 50 and the only two people who used this Neutrogena Sunscreen, including myself, got very badly burnt while the others didn't. Coincidence? I think not. If you care about your skin, DO NOT BUY THIS!
I have fair skin, so I don't tan well at all. I used this product before going to the beach. It was a huge let down. I followed the instructions to a t, and I still got a nasty sunburn. A friend of mine who used another brand and SPF 50, didn't burn and she has even more fair skin than I do!!
