... this ISN'T a New 3DS XL. This is a regular sized New 3DS, the kind that Happy Home Designer is as well. The bonus part is, in exchange for a smaller size, you have removable faceplates that you can customize by swapping them out for other, separate sets.
First video game I played as a child was Pokemon Blue on a yellow GBC, both still function to this day (minus the cartridge battery that I don't want to attempt to change). Definitely recommended for any fans that have kept up with the series for so long, instant collectible.
Although it is technically a downgrade in the size department (in regards to coming from a 3DS XL), this unit is still very much an upgrade! Between the sleek matte finish and, of course, the gorgeous Chrizard/Blastoise plates, this item is a must buy! It also comes with all the nostalgia goodness of the original US-released Pokemon titles Red and Blue!
Please don't listen to 7up11's review, it's full of misinformation. 1. Pokemon Red/Blue have not been rumored to receive re-re-make (FireRed/LeafGreen). 2. This is a limited edition of the smaller New Nintendo 3DS, I'm pretty sure they'll be a demand for it even if the item is open. 3. Nintendo has already released the pricing for the games, $9.99 each. 4. The games are tied to your Nintendo Network ID, simply re-download the deleted game(s) that you've already purchased and you're good to go.
Nintendo has come a long way since their first hand held gaming system. I have owned every one of them at some point in time. Have to say that this is by far their best handheld device yet. Can't wait to see what they come out with next.
It's the smallest of the New Game Boys. I would it if it was the 3ds XXL. But it's not. Worked great out of the box. Games were preloaded. Which was nice. Had no problems with it so far.
I love this 3DS. It is my personal favorite handheld. I have had multiple Nintendo handhelds. Many do to breaking The only complaint I have is with the shipping. Slow. I recommend getting this 3DS for either collecting or just for fun and nostalgia. Works great.
The new 3ds is great, I love the special edition face plates. My only problem is the package it was shipped in. It was not sent in a box, but in thick paper that had two holes in it! The box that the 3ds comes in was slightly bent, but thankfully the product was fine. If you plan on saving the box to display I would recommend picking it up in the store.
The delivery people honestly don't know how to handle fragile goods. My box came in looking like they were using it as a hockey puck and when I went to get the package the guy just dropped it from 7 feet (I have a closed fence that's why) but he didn't know I was there. We have a platform to leave packages and this guy just didn't care. Everything came okay though, but still. The ds's don't come bubble wrapped or anything
The item itself is good, it a 3ds with pokemon red and blue in it and it's a good collectors item. But when I got the box from Walmart site to store the box came dented and creased. I'm a collector and receiving an item in a box messed up, puts a damper on my day and I find Walmart to be unprofessional if they send limited edition items messed up.
