I bought this for my daughter and I can't believe how cold this unit blows! She loves it!! It's extremely sleek and stylish and fits comfortably in her room. It arrived a few days later than anticipated, but after seeing (and feeling) how wonderfully it performs...I'd say it was worth the wait! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Easy to order and delivery was on time (actually) a full day early. The unit is top quality! I'm using it to cool a newly constructed art studio (in the oppressive heat of south Louisiana. The instructions were clear and the installation was a pleasure. I like the appearance and the performance is superb. In sum, if you buy a NewAir product you will be gaining a most valuable resource.
I recently had the chance to preview this A/C unit and I was really pleased with what I saw. We are designing a workshop in our garage and looking for a unit that isn't very bulky, heavy or loud. This one moved around easily, has a slim design which will be perfect for storage when not in use. I love that its energy efficient, has a remote and is programmable. I got to see it in action in a large open space and the output of cold air was really good! The setup was very easy and it covers up to 425 sqft, which is plenty for our workshop. It can get hot and muggy in a garage and what really appeals to us is that it also dehumidifies and vents. The NewAir 12200E is at the top of our list. Looking forward to beginning this project!
This purchase was my third air conditioner from New Air. I think these are the best Air conditioners on the market, and we now have one in every room.
This does a great job cooling a room. But, the remote control went out, so that is a bit inconvenient.
I wish it didn't take 2 weeks. We ordered one about 2 years ago. And it was only 5 days to receive the unit. We had no problems with unit we just let our daughter to to college.
I recently purchased this unit. So far, I believe I am going to like this. I am having trouble setting the temperature. I set it to 73 but wake up freezing and the temp in the room is showing 61.
I purchase this for my bedroom so not to have to use my central air to cool down one room. It was easy to vent through a side window. Some of the parts are inside a screwed compartment. At first, I thought I was missing something! The air conditioner is a bit loud. I thought it would keep me awake but on the first night I slept like a rock! I guess it's kind of like white noise. It does cool the room down. (12'X20") Happy with the purchase!
Even in the winter, this unit is unable to cool my 250 square foot bedroom down to 62°. Did I mention that it is 30° outside?! The built in thermometer that controls the compressor always gives a false reading and never cools my room below 70°. Summer, Fall, Spring, Winter. No matter what season, it won't cool below 70°, even when the outside temperature is less than 70°. I have contacted customer service and they just told me to "buy a bigger one". Quite disappointed!
Bought this unit about a month ago and am VERY disappointed. Air is not cold. When it is set on auto it does not shut off if and when the temperature is achieved. The dehumidifier is the only way to cool my room, but by the time I wake up I'm freezing because there's no way to set it to a certain temperature It is very loud for size, the size however it's great if it were correctly.
