A little different than most items of this type but very nice. Seems sturdy enough to last a long time. I bought this for my mother who needed the arms to help her get up and down. It works wonderfully over her existing toilet once we removed the seat. But could be used as a stand alone. She is very petite but this would accommodate a much larger person. She is very happy with it so therefore, so am I.
Cleans, moves assembles easily. Was missing a piece, but quickly resolved.
This commode is very sturdy, easy to clean, and in my opinion is far more acceptable as "furniture" at bedside than the more standard designs and materials would be. Though not used as yet set around a standard toilet with its splash guard in place rather than the container with a bottom, it would function very well as a raised toilet seat with arms that would serve to assist the user to rise more easily than does the standard raised toilet seat.
The product (Carex Deluxe Composite Commode - B36200) was shipped with a defective bucket. The product itself is ideal but with the inoperable bucket is useless. Really dissatisfied that the commode was shipped like this.
