Worked straight out of the box, less than a minute to pick up the sat. signals. You will need an additional SD card to store your music on. Only problem is that you cannot use nav and play music at the same time. Battery will not charge up from provided USB cable, has to be charged through car DC adapter.
so far so good:) good volume and directions. It also does a great job of re-mapping if you pass a street or miss an exit.
This product is wonderful and this is the first time am using a gps and my first time in America and nextar take me exactly to my destination. I could not believe it, every turn was perfect, from I buy it the first trip I go on, from Mancos to Denver.
This product appears to be a generic version of a Tom-Tom. Price is excellent, product works well. User friendly. Note: this is a bare bones product and if you expect this to work like a Garmin, keep looking.
I brought this product for the value and many features including text to message that come with it. It's a gift for my brother-in-law. The product description says it included both US and Canada maps but there's no canada map in the SD card. My brother-in-law will check with Walmart customer services on why the canada map is missing.
What a joy! I paid less than a hundred dollars for my Nextar P3-01 GPS and was surprised to find all the goodies in the box. Besides the mount this cuttie also has a nice carrying case and the 1GB SD card has enough room to upload your favorite road tunes which were a peice of cake to transfere using the USB cable provided and the easy software interface. When I first picked this system up from the store and used it to guide me home, it peformed great right out of the box. The set up was easy and it found my location in less than a couple of minutes. The 2D/3D view made it easy to see and read where the next turns were and where I was located on the map. While driving home I missed a few guided turns and it seamless guided me through to the next turn without any annoying warnings of "Route Recalculation!". I especially enjoy the female voice but the only draw back was the text to speech wasn't as clear as I would like it when it came to pronouncing the street names. I bought this GPS to use while riding my motorcycle and the thing that makes this an excellent buy for the buck is that the charged batteris last up to 9 hours when used as a guide while riding. Once I set up my route I turn all features off except the navigation and the music and I can cruise for as long as I like. This unit features an earphone input and once the volumn is adjusted to hear the music and the voice guide as well as the traffic around me it's like a small peice of heaven when I'm crusing down that road.
My GPS has been very good but I can't find any information on updating my map or where to buy a new car power cord. The power cord has gone bad and it has been less than a year that I have owned it. The store that I bought it in does not carry them and when I asked them about it they said they would get back to me but never have. Deb
I baught this product 2 months ago. It workED nicely up until a week ago. it just quit charging. and the more i used it the longer it took to find gps signal. i found that i was already at my destination several times before it did find signal and sometimes it never did at all. for the money it does what it is supposed to but it doesnt work well if u cant get it to charge.
Unit worked right out of the box for 1 hour. Then it died. Would not charge. Had it plugged in while I was driving the first hour, so I'm guessing defective unit bcz charger showed a red light on while supposedly charging. Female voice was tinny. Directions were good . If it worked would have worth the purchase price of $99.
This GPS looks like a very good GPS, but its not, its cheap and you basically get what you pay for. It does however takes you where you want to go, but the its not always accurate. I have a Magellan GPS which is good and I thought this GPS would be on the same level but it was not. These are some of the problems I found with it. 1. The Map is not built into the GPS, the USA Map is on a SD card that you have to but into the GPS. So that means if you want to use the MP3 you have to take out the SD card with the Map on it and insert an SD card with music on it and vise versa. 2. It takes about a minute, sometimes longer to pick up a signal, so you basically have to wait that long before it tells you where to go. 3. When driving the GPS just went back to the home screen for no reason, so I had to enter the route again while driving. 4. The screen is not very touch sensitive, when I touch the screen I hear the click noise but it does not do anything I have to sometimes press hard on the screen for it to work. 5. The GPS system is slow, it takes a while to bring up what I selected. 6. The words are small and the winshield mount does not extend far so i have to lean in to read the screen display. I would recommend a know brand like the Magellan or some other well know brand, don't waste your time with this, like I said you get what you pay for.
