[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just what we needed for video security. It can be hooked to your wifi network, or kept completely off the net. The setup took about 20 minutes, each camera has 60ft of wire, and it's own DVR. It needs to be hooked up to your own tv or pc monitor. but everything else is included. When you set it up, you password protect it, which is another great feature.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Night Owl spotlight cameras now for about 2 months. First and foremost, the packaging was amazing and made putting together a breeze! At first I was a little overwhelmed thinking I would have to wait till my husband got home, but no, I was thrilled to know I was able to set everything up before he got home, but had him do the wiring. Once I had everything unboxed and set-up, it was tine to syce to the app! This process was very impressive! It was very easy to create my account, and syce the 6 cameras, just like that! I will mention, using the ethernet for setup, makes it go quick. Now onto the wiring which my hubby and I, did together! This process was just a easy as all the other steps. I'm still very impressed with the easy set-up and install of these night owl cameras. If you have any trouble at all, Night Owl has very detailed and easy to follow videos for you to follow. Now back to the wiring of the camera, we was happy with how overall quick and easy to follow instructions this made for us. The wiring was very thick and perfect for protection, and with a screw you have your cameras all setup and all protected. I loved the simple turn connection for the hookups to the DVR and the camera. Once all those steps were all done it was time to look at the cameras all setup. I couldn't be any happier with the detailed view. The picture was absolutely incredible both on my tv and phone app. Both day time and night time, was very nice to see how clear and safe we are now. The app gives me alerts when I need and doesn't over do it, with useless notifications. The night owl has made my family and I feel so safe and we have been so blessed to know they protect us and lets us know of any danger we need to see. We are so thankful knowing we have some safety at out home. We love the app, we love the picture of the cameras and we loved the easy set-up. We definitely recommend night owl security cameras for your protection. You won't be disappointed.
I recently purchase the 4K Ultra Wired 10 camera system and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. My home is now protected by crystal clear 4K security. It was easy to connect and set up! I'll be ordering more product and referring friends and family.
WOW! Awesome buy! I had the installer put all 8 cameras inside and outside around my house. I love the feature on the app where you can shut off the spotlights because I really didn't want the lights in my house but absolutely wanted them on all outdoor cameras! The lights are super bright which I love so it's like a deterrent for anyone who comes on my property!

Each cameras are well made and looks like it will last me a long time. Looks very slick and easy to mount. Picture quality is superb. You could see great details even when zooming in. The 2tb DVR is a major plus. No need to pay extra for any outside service to provide recording.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My current security system is a single camera so I have been looking for a good upgrade. When I had the opportunity to try the Night Owl 12 Channel 4K DP8 Series 2TB DVR system (comes with six cameras) I took it. Overall the system looks nice, has a clear picture, and was a pretty easy install if you don't mind entering your attic. I do have a couple of issues that are more like personal opinions which I will address later. In the box – The camera system basically comes with everything you will need for install with the exception of any junction boxes or wall plates you may wish to use. That said you get the DVR itself, six cameras, an HMDI cable, an RJ45 cable, a mouse, six 60' rolls of camera cable, and the power adapters/splitters. Everything was well packaged to protect from damage. Installation – While I will not go deep into details on my installation, suffice to say I installed mine at the tops of the walls where I wanted them and ran the cables through the soffits. The lengths of cable supplied should be sufficient for most homes if you plan out the install first. I chose to place the DVR in a central location in the house which just happened to coincide with the location of my router. I also decided to have the mouse and monitor (which you supply) located in another room. This was solved with a 32' USB extension and a 50' HDMI cable. As I am comfortable crawling through my attic the install was pretty easy, the hardest part was at the camera connections on the DVR as the screw on connectors are super close, but this could just be my big hands. Use – The DVR displays several different formats for the camera layout and the controls for LED, motion recording, continuous recording ETC are intuitive. The camera quality is good even with my less than 4k monitor. The camera will switch to black and white in absence of a light source and the built in LED spot lights seem to work ok but the range seems to be best within around 40' of the cameras. Personally I just leave the LED spotlights off as the black and white seems to work well enough for the two cameras that are not in light. Final thoughts, this is an all around great camera system. If there are any drawbacks in my mind it is that the camera lack IR which nowadays is standard on most camera systems, and that the camera housings are plastic. My concern about the plastic housings is that where I live in Florida the sun seems to quickly destroy plastic, usually in a matter of a few years. Other than my couple of reservations this is a great product!
Installation was super easy since I was upgrading from an older night owl system and used the same wires. DVR interface is really nice. I don't really care for the mobile app. It takes too many steps to get to the live view. Record sensitivity isn't as accurate as my old system did which is disappointing but overall it is satisfactory.

Not so good...the cables! It was not difficult to install. My husband and I installed all the cameras by our self, but all those cables where a hassle. The hard work pays off!
Bought these to replace old system that was beginning to fail. I was able to use existing wiring which made for an easy install. Cameras were easily adjustable and provided a much clearer picture then the old cameras. The wide angle lenses almost doubled my previous viewing area. Setup of DVR and connecting to the internet for online viewing was simple and easy. It has only been couple weeks since I installed them, but so far, so good. Now I just have to figure out how to save/download clips.
We have owned the night our security system for several years, we are on our third system. The last system that finally wore out this week we purchased in 2017 and utilized The night owl HD app. I utilize an old tablet as a monitor in my work area so that I can see when I have deliveries. The tablet is mounted and displayed my four primary cameras throughout the day uninterrupted. It is too far from the system itself to use a cable to have the normal monitoring. This app is absolutely useless for a constant monitoring. It shuts down right at the most inapt time and then takes forever going through all the steps to get it back up and running again. Basically this app is made my system useless for my every day use and is making me reconsider night owls system.
