I have the NEW LEAF special edition of this, and I purchased the pink for my daughter for Christmas. These things are awesome! The game play is beautiful, the body is tough enough, even for a 6 year old, and accessories are readily available for purchase. It holds a charge well, and you can play for long periods of time! I couldn't be happier, and I know my daughter will love her Christmas gift.
I got this for my 8 yr old daughter who has had all of the other DS systems. she likes it and plays it a lot with no complaints. my biggest problem with it is the 3D feature gives me a massive headache! and my daughter said she can't play it in the car on 3D or she gets motion sickness. so for those with vision issues or who can't watch moving things without headaches or motion sickness I would not recommend this product.
We got the value package for my daughter's birthday. It was delivered very quickly! She has not put it down since she got it!

It is really cute and not as big as I thought it was going to be. Which is a good thing cause I can take it with me where very I go. it fits right in my handbag!
Great system, great gift even with lack of games. there are mini games that come on the system and plenty to do even if you are waiting for actual games.
got this for my daughter, she loves it. Easy to use for her age (5). I was hoping to get an older model DS but there werent any left. She's too young for the 3D features, so its nice to be able to turn it off completely. Loving all the parental controls too. It doesnt hurt that my husband is getting plenty of use out of it too.
I purchased this 3DS on black Friday as part of their discounted package deal. The last handheld gaming device I'd owned was a Gameboy Color, so I was excited to finally get the DS experience. Overall, this is a very fun system. The screens are bright, the controls are comfortable and easy to use, and it fits very nicely in the hands. It's actually quite a bit heftier than I expected (but then I guess that's what I should've guessed, given that this is the XL version). I like that the 3D is adjustable-you'll have to tinker with it some to your comfort and personal preference, and after a while it can cause some eye strain, but it really is a fun feature to play around with. I usually have a hard time processing 3D in movies, but the 3D images in 3DS games are crisp, clear, and definitely 3D. Very cool to see in action. Battery life is decent if you keep the 3D on a minimum or all the way off, and the sleep feature allows you to keep the system running (accessing fun features like StreetPass) when you're on the go and/or not actively gaming on it without draining battery. The user interface is pretty intuitive, and basic setup is a breeze. The main complaint I have about the 3DS thus far is its durability, or rather lack thereof. On the second day that I had it, I slid it into my purse when I went out so I could use it on a long car ride. I was careful to keep it away from anything sharp or pointy. It was on top of a plush coinpurse. Later in the day when I pulled it out of my purse, I noticed a rather large patch of the pink finish on the top had been chipped away, revealing the white underneath. I'm not sure how that happened, but I was very disappointed that it already looks damaged after only a few days of playing with it. I'll probably just cover the spot with a sticker, but it surprises me that a system being marketed towards children is this easily damaged. Maybe the finish is weaker on the pink version, though, because my friends have the blue unit and the black unit, and both of theirs seem more durable and have not sustained any cosmetic damage as of yet. Overall, I'd recommend this because it's a very impressive and fun unit, but the lack of durability makes it lose a star for me.
We are thrilled with our DS hat we purchased. however we were very disappointed with the packaging. It came in a box that was too big. It was wrapped in one small piece of bubble wrap. By the time it arrived to our home the box that the DS is sold in was dented. It was very poor packaging and with as much money as we spent on this item, I expected it to be packaged carefully. Luckily the product was not damaged.
