I am a owner of 2015 Ford Mustang Gt and I'm putting down 635 rwhp.I had 295/35/20 pirelli Zero on my car and was getting no traction in first and second gear.I wanted a tire that would hookup good but not lose a lot of handling abilities.I decided to go with Nt555 up front and Nt555R 305/35/20 on back.I can say once these tires are warmed up I get Complete hook up with no wheel spin.My brother is running Et street SS Mt on hes 700 rwhp Mustang they hook great but suffers a lot on handling if that is a concern for you go with Nitto being you will get better handle with this tire.I am running a 10" rim and the 305 tire looks and fits great.

2012 Ford Mustang GT

First off, I drive fairly conservative with an occasional bout of spirited driving. I purchased the NT555R 305/45/18 Drag Radials and mounted them on AM factory style 10" rims for the back of my 2012 Ford Mustang GT - manual trans, daily driver. I have replaced several intake and exhaust components on the car in addition to installing the Ford ProCal tune and 4.30 gears (California car - CARB legal). The rear LCA's and 3rd link have been swapped out, and air bag inserts have been added. Previously, the car would easily lite up the factory 235/50/18 Pirelli's in 3rd and even get 20 foot long, fish-tailing chips going into 4th gear at over 70 MPH! Both, 1st and 2nd gears, were pretty much useless. Traction Control seemed almost non-existent. Now, it hooks to my satisfaction. I will update once I get a chance to make some passes at the track, for the ultimate test. I currently have about one thousand miles on these tires so far. The car handles quite well for a Drag Radial and the wet performance doesn't seem to be an issue. (I was a little concerned about that aspect, since this IS daily driven). The taller height helped with respect to roll out, comfort and mileage. Recently, on a road trip that included a ride over the California Grapevine north of LA, I easily managed 24 MPG. ( I could easily increase this 1-2 MPG, especially on flat land). Current around town (mixed) mileage is at 19 MPG. The car looks good. I am using the NT555 235/50/18 up front.

I have a 2014 Shelby GT500. 662 hp and 631 ft lbs of torque. 285 Goodyear F1 Super Car tires came on it. I hated them. Especially in the winter ! I could never put it on the floor in first gear and go, they just spin. When hitting second gear the car would go sideways. I put some 305 Nitto 555R drag tires on the back and wow, what a difference ! I can stomp it in first gear and going to second gear hard - you better be holding on, it takes off.

i purchased 305/40/18 for my slightly modified 2014 mustang. it was by far the best mod i have done, and i would go with NITTO every time if done again. My NT555R out perform a buddies MTs in every challenge we do. wet performance, dry performance and even shows people love the look of the NT555R. currently saving to get the matching NT555 for the front and get rid of the god aweful Pirelli tires.

This tire was a fantastic upgrade for traction in comparison to the ultra "performance" tire Ford ships the GT500 with stock. The stock tires would break loose in 4th and you had to stay on your toes.... but this tire you can rocket it from first with no hesitation at all. The dry performance was unbeatable for a tire that (when not too worn) also performs just fine in the rain unlike other drag radials. Being able to feel the full power of the vehicle was worth every penny!

I have done a blower swap, upgraded fuel system, headers, and a long list of other mods to my Shelby. It hit 735 rwhp on the dynojet on a hot day. There is no street tire in the world that will allow me to hook up at full throttle, but the Nitto 555R does a good job of letting me get deep into the throttle. By the time I'm in 2nd gear, I can ease it to the floor without breaking the tires loose. Awesome tire!

Life Changing Addition For My Hellcat

I purchased my 2016 Challenger Hellcat in March, after I passed the 500 miles break in point I discovered that the car was virtually a big burnout machine, On the street I could barely ever launch from a stoplight, pulling into traffic, passing on the freeway, etc., without losing traction. I was so disgusted with the car that I began shopping for a new high performance car. I want a car that will be able to safely use its horsepower for something other than burnouts. The stock Pirelli P Zero Summer tires were great for cornering but for launching, a ridiculous, disgusting, joke. One of my buddies at the Hellcat forum mentioned using drag radials on the street. I talked to my local tire guy - the manager John B. at the local American Tire Depot in Hollywood, CA. He recommended installing the Nitto 555R in 305/35R20 on the stock wheels. From day one these tires have transformed my Hellcat into a completely different car. I love the car now that I utilize the massive horsepower. Words cannot describe the improvement. My wife was with me the first time we launched on the street. After the launch, we stopped turned to each other with big grins and said "Wow!" Followed by a high 5. What a score. They even corner reasonably well for what they are, but care must be exercised in wet weather. They are NOT an all weather tire and they are only rated to 149 MPH unlike the stoke tires. Since Hellcat is capable of 200 MPH, one has to keep the limit in mind. I drive 5,000 to 6,000 miles per year, most owners are reporting 10,000 miles treadlife on the street. So for the price of 2 Starbuck's cofees per week I have transformed my car into the car it was intended to be - a monster!

I am on my second set of the Nitto 555R tires and have put them through their paces. This tire has done everything I have requested of it. Everything from long road trips to south Texas and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, weekend Auto-X events, highway pulls, and the occasion 1/8 strip . I foresee myself sticking with the 555R from hence forward.

I have a 2015 Chevy SS with a S/C Heartbeat. Cam,head work ,headers, etc. I try to do test-n-tunes whenever I have time. My problem is the good dragstrips are 112 and 115 miles away. I am not going to change tires at the track so NT555R's are my choice. I have 642RWHP so traction is usually an issue but I can say these tires have performed above all my expectations. Great bite at the track as long as you heat them good and I have been caught in some heavy rain and they do a very good job as long as you don't go crazy. I can run 70 on the expressway in steady rain and not be panicked. These are the best of both worlds for me. I run 305x40x18.30#on the highway, just let them down at the track and "have at it".
