I bought a simular product that does the same thing that this one does. The only problem that I had, was that the instructions are confusing, and there are only instructions on how to end a flat pannel, not to hold the hole thing together. And to set the thing up to make tubes, is pretty easy, but it is also time consuming as well. The only bad thing that I had to happen while I was using this machine, is that one of the hooks got jammed full of yarn. I had to take a pair of tweesers to get the gaurd on the jammed hook loose just to be able to free the jam. My recommendation on this product, is don't but it unless you have used kinnting looms before and have a lot of time on your hands.
My daughter (age 11) received this for her birthday. She was thrilled, until we tried to use it! The machine is not smooth operating, it catches and you really have to work with it. The first project she decided to make from the booklet was the forearm warmers. We got the first one completed together by taking turns with the machine. We started on the second one and the handle broke. :-( I'm still trying to figure out how to unhook the started yarn project from the machine since the wheel won't turn at all now that the handle broke. I put it aside for awhile out of frustration!
This product was definitely not what I expected! It was difficult to use and is definitely not made for a child to use. We were extremely disappointed.
This item was broke when I got it took it back and got my money back. Don't recommend this to anyone bad
My daughter received this product as a birthday gift and it didn't work after the first use. We were so excited about this item and now we are very disappointed. The handle will not turn and makes a horrible sound when trying to get it to crank.
What can I say that hasn't been said already? I got this despite all of the neg. reviews. I should have listened!!! It was easy enough to understand the instructions and set-up was a breeze. For the most part, it did what it claims...knitts tubes in a jiffy. Panels - not that is something ahole lot different. It was difficult to make with the back-and-forth turning of the crank. So I thought...oh well, at least I can make tube scraffs. ***********WRONG******************* I tried to go back to making those and all the handel would do at that point is just ratchett-click with-out catching to turn. This could be a great little solution for those people who don't have alot of money or space IF it were made out for heavy duty plastic and metal. My recommendation..... DON'T GET THIS PRODUCT!!!!! Save your money and spend it on something else!
This item is a waste of money. I did not expect high quality, but did expect it to last for more than 5 minutes. The handle broke right away. I think it is because the gears did not meet. I could hear the ratcheting sound as soon as I tried the handle. The instructions do not include pictures, just illustrations. However, these are not even on the same page as the instructions so one has to flip pages between the two. Another thing I hate about this is the fact that there is very little that can be made with the machine, that is, if the machine actually worked. The box does not indicate what can be made. I am returning this, and the yarn I will not be using, ASAP.
I was excited to receive my Singer Kitting Machines, but after about a half hour of using the items for the first time the handle gear mechanism that ran the knitting function quite working. For the money it seemed like it was not made properly and therefore did not last.
I bought one of these to make Christmas presents for my family, but was disappointed when it dropped a few stitches, and then froze up at one point in the circle. So I returned it, and purchased another one, thinking it was just a fluke. Wrong. The second one was even worse. It consistently dropped multiple stitches - I couldn't make a single item without it being ruined. I returned that one too. Steer clear. It seemed like a great deal, but ended up being a great frustration, waste of time, and waste of money. If I could give it a score of ZERO, I would.
I am a 37 year old who thought it would be neat to make a few easy scarves for winter. I am very crafty and even have a degree in art, but never learned to knit. Thought this would be fun and easy without me having to really learn to knit. Tried the yarn that came with the machine and it was a disaster. Not to be deterred I figured maybe it was the long hairs on the yarn that made it go so wrong. I went to the store and bought a ton of other beautiful....but less hairy..... Yarn skeins. Round 2 a soft plush yarn......total disaster. Round 3 your basic not plush, not hairy, not fuzzy yarn.....total disaster. With as much as I currently hate this machine, the only thing I can imagine being worse is the poor child that gets this for christmas. I can imagine an excited little girl trying to make her first project only to be extremely disappointed. Wish I had read reviews before buying, but bought it on a whim when I saw it with the other kids Christmas craft items they are pushing this year. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!
