This machine is amazing. You can make baby hats, purses, socks, leg warmers, scarves, and more! A while ago, I bought an expensive Addi Express machine, and it didn't even work. This machine is inexpensive, and it works very well! I highly recommend the Singer Knitting Machine. :D
I have tried several other knitting machines for my daughter and they all failed. This one from singer is easy to use. It does not make the perfect stich all the time but for my 7 year old it is easy to use and she is having a blast. I think it is a great beginner machine and would purchase again in a heartbeat.
I have tried, over and over to learn to knit; I purchased all kinds of needles and looms, until finally I purchased one of these machines for Christmas for my 8 year old granddaughter. She learned to use the machine in minutes and showed me how to make scarves, hats, etc. I simply love it.
I purchased this for a gift.It was smaller than expected but for the price compared to the german made Addi Knitting machine( $250 plus S/H) and upward,then was a great entry level machine before laying out all that money,for a passing fad.For under $30.00 that included S/H you can't beat it.The legs seem alittle wobbilly,but we shall see how it stands up to being used by 10 year old child.
It took several tries before we got it right. We really have enjoyed making scarfs with it.

Received mine today. as I will never purchase a expensive machine. I looked forward to this after a good review on youtube. recommend "how to" also on youtube... instructions are accurate but visual is better. gave it a go and ran smoothly. very impressed. advise thin yarn and take your time. it only takes a couple of seconds to do one row. how fast does a craft really need to get done? the only beef I have with it is the switch for round to flat panel very tight on mine. as I loom knit flat panel not an issue and will just keep it on circular. this is for simple knit stitch only. I do recommend counterclockwise on the handle seems to go smoother. also the type of yarn is important in use. ( which by the way applies to expensive machines too. so for smooth sailing recommend lightweight yarn. goal to make baby caps for charity.
It works. It will be entertaining for children to be introduced to knitting.
I got this for my daughter so she could make something independently to contribute to an auction. PROS: Easy to put together. Easy to follow instructions. Easy to turn handle. Easy to get started. CONS: Sometimes, with the right yarn (weight 3), the circular function works just fine. Usually, you have to watch it VERY carefully for dropped stitches. If you catch them, you're fine; otherwise, you might as well start over. We tried the flat knitting, but could never get anything complete without dropping too many stitches. Tried some weight 4 yarn (Red Heart Super Saver) but could not get it to work. Works best with baby yarn. In the end, she was able to make a child's scarf by herself in a few hours, so it accomplished our goal.
This was bought for me to make blanks so I can dye a gradient yarn. Impossible to do so with this thing. It is getting stuck randomly, with or without yarn, it keep dropping stitches, on round or flat setting, it was just horrible experience trying this thing to work. Returned and will not buy anything like this again.
