Finally got a chance to try mine that I bought several months ago. I love the fact that there is room for potatoes and any other veggies you choose. I used mine in the oven. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy/tender on the inside. It cooked evenly and perfectly. I will be using this quite often.
We do not purchase heat and eat products so I do a lot of cooking. The center unit of this chicken cooker is big enough to hold the bird solid with no fear of it falling or drooping over. The pan is big enough to hold all the juices to make a delicious gravy. I would buy it again, in fact I got one for my brother too.
Very tasty, moist, and came out nice-n -brown. I used a 5 lb chicken and it was awesome. Fall off the bone! Worth every penny!
Makes the best chicken ever
I bought this as a gift for my bro in law along with Raichlen's beer can chicken cookbook ... I think he will be pleased as the unit is very sturdy like everything from Nordicware!!
Works great, cleans easy. Not a lot of extra room for vegetables as shown in the picture (mostly add potatoes) but I had already bought a grill basket for vegetables
I like it. I've never used one before. It was fun getting the chicken balanced on the cone -- I used an 8lb. roaster rather than the 3-4lb birds suggested on the wrapper! To it's credit, the meat was tender, juicy and flavorful! I rubbed it down in olive oil, made up my own spice rub using garlic, rosemary, sea salt, etc. It took roughly 3.5 hours at 375 degrees. I'll probably get a couple for my daughters for Christmas. I only wish they made the surrounding pan a bit larger. I got my chunky potatoes in it -- and they were delish -- but I couldn't help wishing for more room to add more veggies (like chunky carrots). One more thing, just don't forget to put a cookie sheet underneath to catch the spillover juices!
This was purchased as a gift and I am happy with the quality of the product so I bought one for myself !
