just came in today and could not wait for trying it. pros: easy to assemble. produce flosses pretty fast if the machine is properly pre-heated. the chiffon-like flosses will make your cotton candy cute and fluffy. cons: not for the big size party. it cannot make huge ones like the commercial machine. the extractor is tight and really hard to pull out. have to soak it for complete cleaning.
It works really well. The trick is to let it heat at the beginning by running it empty fir 12 minutes. Then done! Catch all the flying cotton candy. It washes very easy with just a damp cloth and water, no soap
No problems with this machine. Works well. I got the flossing sugar for it and I use it more than my daughter:)!
My kids have been bugging me for one of these cotton candy machines forever. It doesn't come with any cotton candy floss, so you will have to purchase that as well as paper cones separately. My kids came up with the bright idea to use lucas mexican candy, since this maker didn't come with the flossing sugar and the Lucas candy is already powder. Wooow. *BIG MISTAKE*. It was awful. It immediately burnt in the maker. So even though this says you can use other candies in place of cotton candy floss. DON'T DO IT. It only works with actual cotton candy flossing sugar. Other than that, it works great
My 13 yr old son love his gotten candy machine. Me on the other hand would like to see the cotten candy form more and a little faster. It's also very easy to clean.
Bought for my 13 yo for Christmas. She LOVES it and has spent countless hours making cotton candy for the family. We used candy floss sugars and also tried jolly ranchers hard candies. Jolly ranchers are our favorite. The trick to getting fluffy cotton candy with hard candies is to first crush the candies into tiny pieces or powder. Very happy with this purchase. It works better than I thought it would.
We used to have a cotton candy when I was a kid and it was so much fun so I ended picking this up to make some cotton candy with my family and it brought back some great memories! The unit is EASY to use, you just plug it in, turn it on, once it heats up just throw some candy in there. The cotton candy will start to appear and you just whisk it onto the plastic stick.
OMG if it wasn't for a friend having a Cotton Candy machine I would never have gotten one. I am in love with it. My kids had so much fun making some. Being able to add hard candy is the best part. I recommend getting one of these.
It's a lot of fun, really neat to make cotton candy from hard candy. I just wish it made a bigger batch. It seems to waste a lot of the sugar and can only small cones of cotton candy.
