It's something I didn't think I would get for him but it was so easy! Glad I did.
Got it as a birthday gift. She enjoyed the gift and used it the same day. The only surprise was that it takes weeks for the finished product. There are several steps and currently we are day 3 into a 12 day process of listening to a noisy tumbler 24-7. If you buy this make sure you have a vacant room off the beaten path to run this cos it it a bit loud.
My granddaughter loves rocks so I thought she could learn about something she already loves and have her soak up knowledge by doing the process of rough to finished stones.
This is a gift for my grandson. He really likes it, it is hard for him to wait so long for the end product...but I think it's good for kids to know that not everything happens immediately.
The kit has high ratings and seems to be the obvious choice. My kid loves it! After the first day on the tumbler, I had to fix the little rubber wheel. Its axle had come out of its intended location and stopped rolling. It's important to know before you buy this for your kiddo, the first stage takes 2 days, second stage is 14 days, I don't recall the length of the 3rd stage. So this is a neat project, but YOU HAVE TO HAVE A PLACE TO LET IT RUN WHERE THE NOISE WILL NOT DISTURB YOU. It is rocks tumbling in a plastic cup, so it can produce some noise that would not be ideal for an apartment.
The tumbler was what I expected but the jewelry making kit was cheap plastic.
VERY disappointed in this product, bought for my son for xmas and the right out of the box pieces were falling apart. does not spin on its own had to cob it together by sitting it up on a angle to get it to spin , going to return, don't waste your money!
it leaked and did not turn. I paid expedited shipping so I would have for a special event and was extremely dissapointed. Returned to walmart.
this item leaked on the table it was on and it ran down into tumbling motor, also the motor for very hot to touch and I wouldn't leave it going when I wasn't home or in bed.
No matter how I put the lid, it leaks. It says to run for several hours but you cannot because all the water drops out. Not only does it drop out, it drips onto the mechanical part of the machine. Very cheaply made and not worth the price. I would give this zero stars if I could. I do not recommend this product for anyone.
