After looking all over online and at local boating supply stores I was amazed at the price of a set of wood oars. Even the cheapest ones were over twice the cost of these! I wanted a set of oars for my 12 foot aluminum boat that I use with my kids to fish a few different lakes and ponds in my area, and I didn't want to worry about splinters or my kids damaging the oars. These are easy for them to handle, although the grips are quite large for their small hands. The spoon shape paddles are nice and these row quite well. My only reasons for the 4 star rating is that the grip material, while comfortable, slips some and tears quite easily. I plan on replacing the grip foam with some bike or motorcycle grips.
For the money these 7' oars are the best value out there.When you get off in a boat and the motor will not start, a set of oars could save your life. I don't use the oars every day but I have them installed on my boat all the time.
