I'm not the best handy man. They said in the instruction paper work it would take two hours to install. It took me four hours. I have order one for my basement door and I'm sure it will only take a few hours to install.
Easy to understand instructions. I was able to install the door in less that 1 hour. The door feels very well built and durable. I'm expecting many years of usage.
Great product. Easy to install
Bought mines online ship-to-store. It got there pretty quick. Installation was easy. It only took about less than an hour. Overall performance is great. If you have small kids you may have to watch them. The screen can come off track if they push out on it. A quick close and open fixes it. We truly love it and highly recommend it.
It isn't as difficult to install as I thought it would be. There is also a video on you tube how to install the door, I recommend watching it all the way thru the first time before installing. It takes about an hour or two but is not difficut, just takes time. I have it on my garage door leading into the house and love it. The magnetic catch is super strong and the screen is low profile. I recommend this door for the price
This will certainly provide a nice breeze throughout the house. Glad I had a (muchanically) savy neighbor... I had asked him to HELP me - who's kidding whom? He put it in - a bit much for me as a senior citizen - I no longer had hack saws - but it was up and on in 90 minutes
I shopped around and Walmart had the best price on this retractable door, which is consistently one of the highest rated on every site. They were delivered on time and installed as described. The only piece of advice, like my installer gave me, is dogs can't see them. And he often has to repair them because dogs walk through them breaking the track. I was skeptical, until my dog walked through one on the first night. Thankfully, it didn't break. To fix the issue, I stuck back-to-back stickers on the screen at dog-eye level (kinda like a window sticker for birds). No problems since and the stickers roll right up with the door. Getting great cross ventilation, and they are out of the way when I don't need them.
Took a while to install but looks great. Very hard to tell when in the closed position so beware of children. I installed it and have walked into it once! Very clean overall look opened or closed.
The good: - Instructions are clear - Sliding mechanism / roll-up system works well - Hide the screen and enables a breeze without adding a door The bad: - The bottom channel installs at the front edge of the door sill and it is higher than the front edge of the original door sill (higher by about 1/2 or more depending on the type of door molding). This creates two problems: 1) It's now a trip hazard and a potential liability to you, your family and visitor! 2) it prevents proper water drainage. There are no drain holes in the track, so water that hits the door sill will collect and it will eventually create a wood rot problem on the sides. - The extension panel they provide for helping to cover up the lip created by the bottom channel isn't deep enough to cover your door sill and it won't help installations they call "long door sill" because the bottom front channel sits about 3/4" off the door sill. I'm experienced craftsman so I had to work around these problems.
My screen came missing most of the pieces to put It together. Called company and they said that they would send the missing pieces. been two weeks and no pieces. All is good tho as I can fix the problem myself
