Owned a lighter weight version I purchased from Sam's. It lasted about three years. This is an outstanding office chair. It is very well made. I suspect this this chair will last a lifetime. It's designed for larger and heavy people. Good Product!
Really nice it's bigger than I though. Much more comfortable than any others I bought. My only complaint a 400 chair should have a feature to change or tilt the angle of the seat it feels like I'm tilted toward sliding out of my seat but I have a real bad back and it's helping me be more comfortable. 10 hours a day.
This chair appears to be wider than most desk chairs , however it is not. It has the same width as his (father in law--98 years young) old chair that had FULL arms and was leather. This chair is made really well. The coasters are much higher quality than many other chairs. The roller frame for the wheels is made of aluminum not formed plastic. I would have thought that because the arms are not full (touching back of chair) it would be an issue (leaning over arm) for his sleeping in the chair, but they are not. He is a big man, tall and has the weight of most men in their 50s I have sat in this chair and it is VERY COMFORTABLE. This is a great chair and he has been though about 4 chairs and thinks this is the best chair, even over some of the more expensive one he has had.
Feels very sturdy and comfortable! Rolls smoothly. Seems like it will hold up for a long time.
I am a large and tall man and this chair has a very comfy seat and is adjustable to a height that is perfect for me. My shorter wife likes it too and she doesn't mess with the settings. I am using it in the home office and it also looks nice. I plan on getting another for the office.
This chair was purchased for use where lighter weight chairs have not held up well. This chair has, so far, met and exceeded our expections.
This is a great, sturdy chair. Most of the pieces are made with steel. The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars for me, right now, is that the seat cushion seems to be possible not qreat quality. Time will tell, but when sitting on it, if I put my hand to the side of the seat cushion, I can clearly feel the wood underneath - which I cannot do with my more expensive office chair. That said, for ~$300, this is a pretty good quality chair. If you are not at least 5'7", it might be too tall for you even at the lowest seat height. I am about 5'7" and it is just about too tall for me, but I can deal with it. So if you are short, look for a "big" and not a "big and tall" chair.
Chair was listed under Big and Large of which I more than qualify. The chair is very comfortable and supportive, however, I want to point out that the wheels and base are based only on the standard size chair so if you drop anything and bend over to pick it up there is some instability and the chair will tip over as I have found out a couple of times so far. The chair is comfortable and supportive so I would buy it again just knowing to be more careful.
I really love everything about this chair, except the durability!!! As a taller person, it is comfortable and tall enough for me to sit with my feet flat and thighs level to the floor as opposed to so many of the chairs that sit lower to the ground. the mesh back has just the right amount of support added to it by the adjustable lumbar. the arm rests are adjustable both up/down and wide/narrower. The material is breathable and allows the seat is thick and comfortable. the wheels roll on the berber carpet and floor mats easily. BUT BUT BUT - the gas cylinder is trash!!! I bought my first chair sep 22 and within 30 days the gas cylinder failed. It dropped in the middle of use like someone pressed the button. I finally found the phone number to call and office star sent out a replacement cylinder which was 1 inch shorted then the previous version. So now the chair sat 1 inch shorter. this was not acceptable to me as it causes a bend when sitting upright in the chair and leads to bad ergonomics. After dealing with their customer support to try and get the right one, they said it was not available and that shorter cylinder was the only one available. So on Dec 24th I got another one from sams it lasted about 45 days before it also completely crashed all at once. Will update if they can provide the right cylinder or not.
