I got the Highland Smoker for Christmas and smoked a brisket for the first time following Aaron Franklins steps for a brisket. I smoked for 8 hours and as you can tell by the photo it came out awesome. The smoker did an awesome job and was very easy to use. I smoked the brisket for 8 hours and used oak and mesquite wood. I'm still learning but can't wait to do my next one. Kids loved the brisket and ate everything.
Life is easier Oklahoma Joe'S , any grilling you need can be accomplished.I'd Q Texas Style. I highly recommend this place. Make sure you get 2 guys to help assemble it.
Making barbecue is a very big hobby of mine and getting back to stick smoking has been a pleasure. This one is very well-built, easy to use, easy to assemble. It works great. Highly recommended as it works. Wonderful. Was delivered extremely fast as well.
Great Smoker for the price and quality of workmanship
I expected to have to seal the lid over the grill, I didn't have to because it holds constant temps. I'm not a pro so I don't mind if some smoke comes out of the lid. The one thing I really don't like is the gap around the fire access door on the side! I wound up cutting out a 3/16" thick spacer and attaching it to the bottom of the door to cut down on some of the air being allowed through when the vent is closed. This pushed the door back out flush and reduced the gaps on the sides and top. I did not see that kind of gap on some of the older smokers that friends and co workers have. I'd recommend the smoker, but with reservations because there are some others out there that look to be about the same quality, but as much as $100 cheaper.
I bought a pre-owned Highland and decided to restore it because the paint was coming off and it had a lil rust. Went down to bare metal and repainted it. I love the Highland, it has the perfect amount of rack space. Keeping a steady temp just takes practice and the flavor of the food is amazing!
Great off-set smoker for amateur to avid griller. Quality build. Very fast shipment, received the next day.
Quality is lacking for the price. Assembly was pretty simple and straight forward. Be sure to season before you actually cook on it. I cooked6 full racks of pork ribs the first time I used it. Cooks a bit uneven across the surface but they were great. Held temp really well but seal and hold smoke and/or heat. If I was going to do this again, and probably will in a year or two I spend substantially more money and buy a Lyfe Tyme unit.
I bought this product because I seen some videos of how well you can smoke meat on this grill, and I must say I'm torn because I actually love this grill but, the quality is not quite what I expected. I followed all the directions about how to season and take care of grill to insure the longevity of the smoker but not even a week of using it the smoke box started to blister and chip and I thought that it was something that I was doing wrong but, now I see other people complaining about the same things,I've had the smoker a few months now and I use it frequently so you would think I had this this at least 1 or 2 dispirited the fact that I keep it well covered and I live in Florida.. I have mixed feelings about this smoker
It was well received with nuts/bolts packaged and clear instructions. My husband smoked on it the first weekend it was received. The very next weekend he went to grill and as he was heating the charcoal, a large 8 inch round chunk of the paint dropped off the bottom exposing rust. Not happy with this and am contacting the company.
