I don't have aging issues...yet. But I did have sun spots popping up and really needed to start moving away from acne creams that were over-drying my skin and start focusing on toning and moisturizing while sun-protecting. This Total Effects cream is magical! It feels great, it keeps my face happy, AND it took away my sun spots after four weeks of use. I only use it once a day after my face wash. I cannot express how much I love this product! Thank you!
Tradition is what geared me toward Olay products as they were used by my Grandmother, Mother and now me since I was 20 years old. This product does it all...balances skin tone, moisturizes but not greasy and I find it to be light in texture so it's perfect under make-up. If in a rush with no time for full make-up, the moisturizer provides just enough coverage along with the SPF 15. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Smooth and silly, I really love the feel of this on my skin. It doesn't cool my pores or feel heavy. The moisture level of my skin has improved. I like the pump but it seems to put out a little too much; one pump covers my face, neck, decollete, ears and back of my neck.
I tend to use the product for winter weather protection. The harsh winter winds seem to be more drying and I need this extra moisture to keep my skin fresh and clean looking. Living down South, this is a great product because you need the SPF all year. It's my go to foundation for 20 plus years and keeps you looking younger without heavy creams. One of my favorite moisturizers and it's great that it's currently on rollback! I like the smell and it leaves my face well moisturized. I don't feel greasy when I use this which is a huge plus for me. I am also writing this review to share my thoughts and experiences with this product as well as to enter into a #contest.
I gave this to my 97-year-old Mother a couple years ago, and she is crazy about it!! I got this one for her, for Christmas, and she is thrilled. Most products fall flat, on their promises, but not this!
Have used this moisturizer for many years and cannot bring myself to use any other. It keeps my face feeling smooth all day long. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I am always in the pursuit of skin care that will give me great results. I'm a bit of a product snob and purchase my skin care from a dermatologist or upscale department store/boutique. Recently while traveling I ran out of some of my products and couldn't order & receive what I needed quickly enough so I decided to try the Olay Total Effects Moisturizer + Serum duo SPF 15. This product contains niacinamide and acetyl glucosamine (both help with discolorations, major pluses in my opinion) and were two of the main reasons for my choice of this moisturizer. I have dry skin and was skeptical that the product wouldn't provide enough moisture but I was pleasantly surprised. It's not a heavy thick layer of moisture, rather it sinks in and my skin feels really smooth and comfortable. I've only been using it for about two weeks so I cannot comment on any major visible results as far as reducing discolorations or minimizing fine lines just yet, that takes some time. But over all this seems to be a well formulated product that has made even a really dry gal like me feel hydrated. The pump packaging is definitely a major positive. It helps to keep the product sanitary and reduces exposure to air which can deterioriate some ingredients rendering them less effective. There are some really good ingredients in there and the SPF addition is a plus. Fragrance-free is a major winner. Pros: niacinamide and acetyl glucosamine, good moisturization, FRAGRANCE FREE, pump dispenser, SPF. Over all, a great product. Cons: not many, just needs a few changes. 1.) SPF of at least 30. I have to add another sun protection product on top for adequate protection currently. 2.) addition of the pentapeptide complex & few more antioxidants. I would definitely repurchase this product. The price point is far below what I am accustomed to paying for this type of product so that never hurts!
I've used the olay 7 before, without the sunscreen, and I liked it a lot; I don't think this one works as well, and the sunscreen does not absorb well at all.
Very disappointing! At age 52 with combination skin, for many years I've been using Aveeno Ultra-Calming moisturizer under mineral foundation, but have 1000s of visible pores that fill up every day which are hard to scrub clean or minimize their appearance, so I decided to try Olay product line to try to minimize pores after reading 100s of glowing reviews. For 2 months, I've used Olay Total Effects Revitalizing foaming cleanser in the am, and Olay Pore Refining cleanser in the pm, scrubbing with a small round loofah face buff pad, and liked both cleansers, as they remove most debris from my pores (but have not minimized their appearance). I've also been using the Olay Regenerist microdermabrasion kit twice weekly, though have yet to see any pore or wrinkle reduction. 1 month ago, I added this product, which looked like it might be perfect for daytime application under foundation as it's fragrance-free with SPF, and serum as a makeup base plus a moisturizer, which I hoped would reduce my pores, but it was a letdown, except for the pump which works flawlessly. It peels off every time I touch my face, and rubs greasy flakes into my hair at the temples from eyeglasses. I called Olay, and they told me that my 2 small pea size amounts applied were too much, and I should try a dime sized amount, which was about the same. No luck, it still peels off. Definately not what I was looking for! I've recently tried Olay Regenerist fragrance-free serum, which works great as a smooth base for mineral foundation, but it has no SPF for casual days when I don't wear foundation, and it has done nothing to reduce pores. I also tried the Covergirl-Olay Tone Rehab swirled serum foundation. It has very light coverage, but it also has no SPF, and has not improved skin tone. I'll probably try Loreal or Garnier or ROC products next. It's hard to find fragrance-free serum options which include SPF.
