The drop has a little coated sugar. After the sweetness is gone, it comes with the bitter and menthol taste. Some may not like it, but I feel it is good for the throat. It lasts long, about 10 minutes.
This is the most effective cough drop I have ever used. Be warned that it is very strong and medicinal tasting. But that’s a small price to pay for something that really works and stops my coughing.

This is the best cough drop I've ever used. If you have a tickle in your throat, it will go away quickly as soon as you put one of these drops in your mouth. The vapors open up your sinuses so you can breath easily too, and they last a long time.
i have an irritating dry cough caused by the medication that i take. Olbas tastes delicious and soothes my throat -- just keep them handy for when you need them.

These are the best cough drops I have ever used and they are herbal. They have a very strong methol taste and I find them very effective.
I saw a recommendation for Olba's Pastilles on a blog by a Broadway actress and decided to try them. These are small and start out with an intense blast of throat soothing menthol then the flavor mellows to a wintergreen taste that keeps your mouth moist for a few hours. These are not as medicinal or as sugary sweet as most lozenges commonly sold in the U.S. They suit for frequent use in between a breath mint and a true "cough drop".
Love these. They last much longer than a mint and are so helpful when you are in a situation where you can not drink a sip of water, but want something for your mouth. A bonus is they help to open your sinuses and even can help to freshen your breath. I just don't like the packaging as I have to cut it open with scissors to get to it, which is not convenient when traveling or on the road, but once you have the pouch cut it is fine.
