Bought this so my children could try a fruitcake...of course they hated it. However I loved it. Wish I bought more for myself.
I cannot believe a store bout fruit cake can be this good. It is just as good or even better than homemade fruit cake. And the price is incredible. I would highly recommend Claxton fruitcake to those that love a good fruitcake. And even though I noticed this year that the blocks of Claxton fruitcake are being sold in 12 oz blocks instead of 16 oz blocks, the fruitcake still tastes so good, and it still is a good price and a great value for what you get. The fruit cake is loaded with candied fruits, and it is the best store-bought fruit cake that I have ever eaten. I would highly recommend Claxton fruit cakes.
This cake arrived in perfect shape and is moist and sweet . I ordered one for me first and then ordered seventeen more as gifts for my co-workers. A sweet treat from Georgia for some hardworking Bethel, Alaskans. The price made buying 17 more a great idea. These will make me famous!
if you like fruitcake this is an excellent buy.. it has a lot of fruit and nuts in it.. tastes like the ones my mother used to make... ordered two last Xmas, liked them and tried to order more but were all sold out... this year I got 7 right away
I bought this Claxton Fruitcake for my mother. She was THRILLED!!! She said that Claxton has been making Fruitcake longer than she's been alive. And, it's always been her favorite. I was relieved! Since I don't eat Fruitcake it's impossible for me to know which 1s are the best. The Claxton Fruitcake appears to be 1 of the best. (Don't let the price fool you!!!)
I has all the standard ingredients I think, any way before FC became the dreaded dessert I really liked it so this year I bought about 5, kept one and passed the rest to friends. I had no complaints and even a compliment, I am however thinking that with a little rum poured on it and wrapped in a towel for awhile it would make it really good.
Ordered 8 only received 7 - not good
The main part of my order was great! However, I picked the time of 2:00pm to 6:00pm to have my things delivered, I did not have a clue that the Claxton fruit cakes were going to be delivered before 2:00 pm, I was home before that, just had not opened up front door and shades. The delivery person did not ring my door bell, ---------- I should have been informed, at the time of ordering that these items were going to be delivered before the time I choose and I would have known to be looking for them earlier than the times I selected, -------- I should have been informed because I might not have ordered those items if they were coming before the time I selected,
Way too much fruit and not enough cake. It's not the way they used to make it. Disappointed.
