This is a great camera. I upgraded from another Olympus and was concerned about the picture quality, as the quality of pictures for my old camera was amazing. I was not disappointed. The camera is loaded with cool features such as macro shooting, time lapse, and rapid shooting for action shots (although I only get 13fps vs. the advertised 15). It's the ultimate camera for amateur photographers and the best for those who want a great camera but don't want to have to deal with the expense of lenses etc for an SLR. The fact that it uses AA's is a huge plus for me being a big traveler because if your battery dies you can always get more pretty much anywhere. Using the auto feature it makes anyone look like a pro, and if you are adventurous and use the manual modes they are simple and take all the work out of taking good shots. Adjusting shutter speeds, focus, and aperture are a breeze. The only thing I would highly recommend is the high speed xD card, without it the camera is a little slow between shots. Also xD cards are more expensive than their SD counterparts.
Wonderful camera, for the price it not only meets but exceeds all expectations! Definately would and will recommend this camera to all my family & friends!
Having owned this brand before, I'm really impressed with all the features of this new to me model.
Very easy to use. I'm a novice and never owned a good quality camera. I bought this for my wife and she loves it as do i. We both like the ease of use and the great pictures it takes. The zoom is amazing and quick. It's been great for taking pics of our kids in sports and trips to the mountains.
My husband and I bought this camera on our honeymoon, to have a good camera on vacation. We have both enjoyed all the capabilities that is offers. The more that we play with it, the more features that we find. I have recommended this camera to all of our family and friends. A couple have already made their purchases and more to come.
I am very happy with this camera. I has all the lenses you would ever need included in the one camera and is very easy to use. The contols are easy as is the instructions.
Although I've only had the camera for 2 weeks I am so far very impressed with it. It was purchased for a trip to NY City and all of my pictures turned out wonderfully. The zoom is by far the best feature of this camera. My only problem so far is that I keep forgetting to open the flash (not something I had to do with my old camera). Luckily I review my pictures after each shot and have figured it out quickly each time. I would definetely recommend this camera to anyone looking for something above a regular point and shoot but not quite up to the SLR level yet.
Good Quality Product First media card should be included with purchase though! The Zoom works great! Simple camera to operate for non-professionals like myself.
A great camera right out of the box, but the lens motor died after 57 pictures - disappointing to say the least. As I've had Olympus products in the past, I'll trust them to make this right. Controls feel solid and the zoom is smooth. The Auto function takes the guesswork out of getting the perfect shot. It'd be nice to see this camera bundled with a memory card, case, rechargable batteries and a car adapter for the $399 price tag.
Good: This camera is extremely lightweight given it's size. The rubberized grip make is easy to hold onto It's very efficient on battery usage. The first set lasted almost two months (approx 450 shots.) Zoom is excellent - but focus is very slow at longer range zooms, Bad: Not as easy to use as other cameras I've owned - you need to read the manual. Slow zoom/focus and complex menu system to navigate. Software is very powerful but complicated compared to other editing software. You need to read the manual/help. Overall: Nice camera, steep learning curve for casual vacation/family occassion users.
