Love it or hate it (and let's face it, most hated it), this film is a marvel of set design and art direction, and that is well represented on this special edition DVD. The 1.85:1 anamorphic image is simply stunning. (As is common now, a full-frame version is available separately.) Colors, a vital element of the film, are presented with an amazing flourish, perfectly capturing the theatrical appearance. There are no signs of grain or print scratches, as would be expected. Nearly as impressive is the 5.1 Dolby Digital track. The sound mix is very exciting, with wide use of the surrounds for effect, but the main audio source is never drowned out up front. Dialogue is clear (this could be a good or bad thing, depending on your view) and without any distortion. It wouldn't be surprising to see a two-disc re-release happen down the line, but this title still throws in a number of first-rate supplements. While the menus are annoying, they will take you to numerous sections, mainly comprised of 12 short (under three minutes each) featurettes. Those with short attention spans will appreciate these pieces, all with interviews from director Bo Welch, star Mike Myers, and other cast members. Segments include the cat makeup, the music, the creation of the Theodore Seuss Geisel stamp, the vehicles, various visual effects, and more. In addition, and designed to appeal to the very young, is a segment on how to dance like the cat. Slightly more promising, though not the best ever produced, is an audio commentary track from Welch and Alec Baldwin. The two seem to enjoy recording this track, and their time making the movie. Infinitely more amusing than the film is a lengthy bloopers segment. Finally, a number of deleted scenes are offered, as well as the trailers for Shrek 2 and Peter Pan. Overall, this is a fine disc, from the exceptional picture and sound to a wide array of extras. Now, if only the film was as good.

Such a great take on those old enough to remember Princess Bride..Fred Savage is fantastic.
Cute movie, just like Deadpool 2 without all the bad language or nudity. Good for kids who like Deadpool.

Been wanting this movie and found it at a great price and fast shipping with WM !!
I ordered this movie on Walmart's website and they sent the PG version instead of the PG-13. Personally, I feel this movie is nowhere near as good as Deadpool 2. If you know nothing about Once Upon a Deadpool, the movie is Deadpool 2, edited for a younger audience, with new scenes added and some old scenes cut or partially cut. This PG/PG-13 version does not flow as well as the original Deadpool 2. I thought the Fred Savage/Princess Bride spoof would be more amusing/funny than it actually was. I guess it's an OK version of the movie if you have younger kids that you would like the movie toned down for. One other important bit of info, THE DIGITAL COPY IS NOT REDEEMABLE IN THE USA! This was the most disappointing part of the purchase. I thought I was purchasing the digital copy and it doesn't work. I will be returning this for that reason.
I've watched about half of it, and the humor is very "hit or miss". I can confirm that it really does push very hard against the PG-13 rating. There are multiple uses of religious exclamations, as well as at least 2 uses of religious profanity. There's also a lot of sexual innuendos, particularly gay innuendos. The film definitely feels like it is missing something (like possibly a good writer, as even Deadpool points out the bad writing during the film). If you're still on the fence then give it a rental instead. If you're a huge Deadpool fan then you've already purchased it. If you're a parent looking for a good superhero movie for your kids to watch, then I suggest you pass on this one. As always please remember to sit and watch everything your child watches. For the adults out there who want to see this, then I suggest grabbing the unedited version. If you haven't already done so, then watch the original Deadpool instead. The storyline is much better. Once Upon a Deadpool may have cut all the good stuff from Deadpool 2, which could have potentially filled the storyline and humor with holes. That's the thing though, I don't really know! Plus, the lower rating does nothing and, as far as I know, this version could possibly be even more offensive than the unedited Deadpool 2.
