Easy to swallow. Can tolerate the smaller size, smooth coating much better. Couldn't swallow the regular ONE A Day wheat colored football size tablet.
Actually this purchase was for my daughter who hates to swallow big pills. The regular one a day is large so this fits the bill perfectly. It is a softgel which is easier to swallow. This takes care of her daily needs. The only thing she takes in addition to this is calcium which is a little lacking.
I am not sure what's up with the wrong reviews. These are definitely not the size of a "grape" as one of the reviewers mentioned, also they are not bigger than the petites. They are almost the size of a dime in length. And you take just one compared to 2 as with petities. For someone who hates to take pills, this is a win-win for me. Frankly the reviews that blew this pills size out of proportion made me hesitant to buy them. Glad I did.
These multivitamins were delivered in a plastic grocery sack that was tied shut and just left on my porch. I didn't appreciate this at all especially since this is vitamin for my daughter vs a non-edible type of product. Should have come in a sealed box or bubble envelope at a minimum. Otherwise, product wise - so far my 15 year old daughter was able to swallow it which is a huge plus. Still waiting to see how her stomach tolerates it. They are thick and wider, and I took one myself. I could feel it in my throat right at the beginning of the swallow process but was able to get it to slide down easily after this. May take some practice. When I first looked at the pills, the first thing I thought of was Boston Baked Beans. They are pretty darn close to that size.
They are smaller... but kinda wide. They are very smooth so they do slide down more easily. The fact that they are a little wide sometimes catches in my throat and why I gave them 4 stars. What I like about them is you only have to take ONE a day. Not two like many others that actually say two.
Glad it says, "take... with food". Been taking for 35 days now. No aftertaste or nausea. However, I've noticed some small lighter skin patches on my face - not sure if it's related or not, but this multivitamin is the only new addition in my system this year. Compared to One-A-day Women's Tablets, these Mini Gels have a considerably lower percent daily value (amount per serving) for most of the vitamins listed. (See the picture). For example, vitamin B12 is 6mcg (250%) in the Tablets, but only 2mcg (83%) in the Mini Gels. Good or bad?
At first glance, these are considerably smaller than other supplements. However, for some reason, each time I take it, it's feels as if I accidentley swallowed an ice cube, it hurts going down every single time. I am a pro pill taker but this particular one is difficult for me. So far, no choking but it feels like its going to get stuck. That said, I am still happy to take a single gel pill and I am hoping it gets easier because I beginning to notice the benefits of this daily vitamin.
I would not consider these “mini.” I can't compare the size to the petites since I haven't tried those, but I can say they are shorter but larger in girth (for lack of a better word?) than the regular Women's One-a-Day tablet. I had the same experience as another reviewer - the capsule got stuck halfway down my throat. It's easier for me to swallow the normal tablet. I'll have to look for the petites, I suppose.
I have to agree that the term 'mini' really doesn't apply to these vitamins at all. They aren't the size of a grape but, the diameter is much too large for me. I need to qualify that statement by saying that I have a partially paralyzed esophagus and swallowing a lot of pills is a challenge. That was why I ordered these. I ordered them through the OTC benefits of my insurance and I wish I had checked reviews first. I can get them down but, it takes a cup of hot coffee to soften them up and then they still stick and have to be flushed down. I will not order them again. I am attaching a photo showing them beside a standard capsule and my calcium chew. If they were more elongated they would go down easier.
I just started taking the minis which I am very happy with. Decided to try these. They are thick and hard as a rock It was stuck in my throat for 10 minutes. Gulped alot of water and even some vinegar hoping it would soften it. Scared me. Going in the trash.
