This device has helped my wife and I perform tests that we need, and the best that we do it ourselves. The device is easy to use, and has allowed us to maintain the quality of life that we wish. Affordable price beside free shipment
After using numerous meters for the past 8 years, I have found this meter is way out front of all others. Using the meter could not be more simple. The optional computer cable and prgram enables one to track their blood glucose with exceptional precision with great archives when needed.
I absolutely love the OneTouch Ultra meter!!! I have used many different meters, including different brands over the past 16 years, and thus far the OneTouch Ultra is by far my favorite. I like that it is small and fits in my purse. I have been using the OneTouch Ultra for @ least 3 years now. It has a large memory storage which is very nice for dr.'s visits and personal use. I test my blood sugar @ least 8 times a day. This has proven to be an excellent meter for me.
I recently had to start monitoring my Blood Sugar and was terrified for many reasons. Mainly my intense fear of needles. I have tried a few different systems and this is by far the best! As someone who (in childhood) had to have multiple hold them down for a simple blood draw, shot, etc and someone who (shamefully) still tears up at the thought of having these done, I can honestly say I don't even feel this lancet device during the puncture. I have experienced no lingering pain in my finger after multiple tests over days in same finger. The "needle" on this lancet is so fine you actually have to be careful when "uncapping" it to place it in or remove it from the device. (I have bent a few needles completely sideways by accident) I have had no problems with any error readings, the machine has been easy to use/understand right out of the box.
I was dissapointed in this product. It routinely wasted strips because of an error 5 message. While the cost of its strips is cheaper than other brands I had to waste so many that I do not think it was cost efficent overall. Error 5 should mean, not enough blood on the strip, but the blood went all the way to the end. It is a similar problem to the infamous error 3 message on the old BD test strips. This product also is not ideal for the active outdoor enthusiast. It performs poorly in temperatures below 60 F, and in high humidity, and is still much bigger and bulkier than some of the smaller freestyle meters. It is also difficult to test yourself with this meter in the middle of the night or in dark conditions. While the display is backlit, it does not have a light on the test port itself, so it is difficult to test yourself at night without turning on a llight.
