These technologies find localization cues in legacy stereo or multichannel soundtracks and up mix these elements to create immersive top-to-bottom dimensionality. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualize When playing any Dolby format, engaging Dolby Atmos Height Virtualize enables a more immersive listening experience, creating a virtual surround and height effect from traditional speaker layouts without employing additional surround or height speakers. Spatial sound elevated with DTS Virtual: X DTS Virtual: X is an innovative surround-sound virtualization technology that creates an immersive 3D sound field from any speaker layout, such as 2.1, 3.1, and 5.1 configurations without height, surround, or rear surround speakers deployed. It uses sophisticated DSP-based algorithms to place the audience at the center of a multidimensional sound field with height and surround spatiality, and is equally effective in large or small spaces. DTS works in the 3D domain with DTS:X soundtracks, DTS formats, and non-encoded stereo. Hear dialog clearly at the touch of a button Finally, a fast and effective solution to inaudible dialog in TV programs and movies. The TX-SR393 features DSP-controlled Vocal Enhancer that identifies vocal frequencies and allows you to raise or lower them to taste using keys on the remote or via the tone controls on the receiver's front panel. Share the atmosphere or relax in privacy A fantastic addition to the TX-SR393 is a Zone B line-out. It connects a component with an analog RCA line input to audio sources available to the receiver, including HDMI and digital audio. Simple steps to sweet sound The TX-SR393 simplifies your room's entertainment setup. Components plug into labelled ports while your TV connects via one easy-to-conceal HDMI cable. Setup takes moments, enjoyment is limitless. Smooth and easy Bluetooth streaming Whatever audio is playing on your phone, tablet, or PC app can be streamed to the TX-SR393 with Bluetooth wireless technology. Once the receiver has paired with and remembered your device, it will start playback automatically whenever it detects an incoming Bluetooth audio stream. Decompress with Advanced Music Optimizer When an audio file is squeezed into a small container (such as MP3), high-frequency data is lost. This can affect sound quality. Onkyo's Advanced Music Optimizer DSP listening mode reconstructs the missing bit data. Playback quality is greatly improved, while you enjoy the same convenient file sizes. USB power for streaming dongles A USB port on the rear panel powers any media streaming stick plugged into an adjacent HDMI input - great if you don't have enough power-points.

Replaced a 20-year-old Onkyo receiver that was part of a 5.2 system. Only replaced the receiver with this, and it works great- major upgrade. The actual dimensions of this are a little "tall", so be aware of that. Set up, use, etc. is really simple, and it sounds great. Would for dang sure get this again. Only ding I would give it is the output for the Channel B is a RCA feed, not a speaker hookup. So in my old one, my patio speakers were Channel B (came out of the receiver as speaker-wire hookups). In this new onw, it's an RCA output, so you have to run that to another receiver or amp with a speaker output to make it work. Not a big deal in the grand scheme, but something I wish I had known.
My new Onkyo TXSR393 5.2-channel a/v receiver is perfect for my condo. It was a breeze to set up to my brand new 65" Hisense R-6 series UHD 4K with Roku TV and my Bose 601
Very good .Setup is easy . Very good .Easy setup .Sounds really great with my speaker setup
It has been my brand for many years, and it also lasts for years on. Great brand far as I am concerned.
Look and sounds great easy to under stand and nice looking device
Onkyo brand 5.2 Channel Dolby Atmos Audio Video Receiver was easy to connect straight from the box. The receiver provided excellent quality sound using my television as well as while listening to my favorite music. It was a good value for the money.
Good Crisp sound, only using it as a stereo right now but will use it shortly as a surround receiver. So far so good
