These walkie talkies work fantastic and have a very long range. I am currently using them with my sick child. She has one and I have one, and she can call me if she needs something without having to get out of bed and find me. It works very well for this. As a test, I gave my husband one while he walked to our community mailbox several houses away. Once there, he called me and I was able to hear him. I was impressed with the range on our test. We also camp several times a year, and I am always on the hunt for a good way to communicate. I'm excited to use these when our family camps to keep track of each other when we are hiking, fishing, or away from camp. The learning curve was a bit involved, as it's not a simple easy-to-read display. You really need to read the book to understand how to change the volume and channel. Once you learn how to change things, it's fairly easy to use.
I love this walkie talkie, it's great for so many reasons such as when I doing yard work and need to reach my daughter without the risking of dropping or damaging my cellphone. It easy to use and can hear very clearly. It has twenty channels, weather channels and hundred twenty one privacy codes. It has built in led light, which is handy for night time use or to see in dark spaces. Also you can use standard AA batteries or rechargeable NIMH battery. It has a 16 miles range for mountain to valley, up to eight miles in open water, and mile for neighborhood. Oh by the way they are lightweight and easy to hold in one hand.
With all the storms followed by power/ cell tower outages these walkie talkies by Onn will surely come in handy. Simple instructions, comes with the 6 AA batteries and can also be used and charged without batteries. Great for emergency kits or just for fun!
This set is fantastic. These walkie talkies work extremely well at all sorts of distances. They are easy to use but have a lot of features, including the Roger beep, flashlight, and a clip to attach the walkie to your belt or shirt. We found the range to be excellent, and the clarity of the communication was excellent. We used these on hikes and trails and were extremely pleased with the performance. So far the battery power hasn't gone down at all, and my son has used these for hours over the last couple of weeks. They're also a good size, perfectly compact so anyone can carry and use them comfortably. Highly recommend.
These will be used during hunting season. My boys took them out yesterday - and had no issues hearing one another. The charge was great - and while they didn't check the 16 mile distance claim - they had no issues. Put them on the charger in the evening and they were ready again in the morning.
We absolutely love these at home since we live on 20 acres and these work in the woods even when our phones do not. Same for car trips when we have more than one vehicle and are traveling in area with a bad phone signal. We will also be using them on our camping trip later this month as I like to hike while my husband and son ride bikes on the trails. This was we can get in contact with one another in the trails with little to no cell service.
These walkies are pretty nice. I like the short antenna and slim size. It is nice and smooth to the touch. Haven't tried the long mileage but worked great from 1 corner of our 1.5 acres to inside the house. Very clear. Like the little flashlight. Also like you can mute it. Only problem is when increasing volume, the beeps are very loud. Overall I would def recommend these for camping, hiking or around the house/farm
The flashlight is really bright. It took a minute to figure out how to get both on the same channel. Sometimes there is some weird static, but maybe something else was on that channel. We accidentally made it toggle between two channels and it was difficult to figure out how to get it out of that mode. It comes with batteries, but if you want them to be rechargeable you have to purchase them separately. I don't know if they have the range they say across water or by elevation. We tried them at 1.7 miles apart on flat land and they did not work.
These walkie talkies provided a liot of entertainment for my kids, running in and out of the house. The 16 mile range is questionable. They are definitely better than your typical kid walkie talkies and they worked fine for walks in our neighborhood but once we got about a mile away we lost the connection so I can't say the have a sixteen mile range. My experience is that the have about a mile range. We look forward to using them at larger parks this summer. They feel very sturdy and good quality. I like the built-in flashlight and weather radio too.
These definitely come in handy. And I was so happy they came with batteries. We lost power & cell service from the winds, the actual tornado hit a few miles away. I remembered we had these and set them up to use. A little confusing setting up the Onn. 16 Mile Walkie Talkie 2 pack at first trying to get them both on the same channel. We did pick up other talk on them, at one point it sounded like we were in on children's playing, maybe on other walkie talkies. We also picked up adult conversations, it was a bit odd. The other conversations did stop when we figured out to get them on the same channels. They did work very clearly too. They can easily clip onto your clothes with the added clip. The flash light feature is great, don't need to hold 2 different items. Definitely came in handy during our emergency situation. These will stay in the cabinet where our emergency flashlights and radio is kept.
