It puts out only 550 mA (just over half an amp). Don't try to put anything that pulls a draw on it, like a car cooler; it probably won't work. I gave it a fair rating because it's fairly durable and it has a bright blue light to show you when it's working. It might have gotten a 3* if it didn't require scissors to get into. The Radio Shack 1A one costs $32.99 if you need a price comparison.
