I am very happy with this humidifier. It is very quiet. I breathe much easier now that I have it.
Have owned several humidifiers over the years and this one is the absolute best. Easy to fill-large capacity and fits on a small tabletop, lasts all day and has improved my breathing in a forced hot air environment. This prevents colds and allergies from ruining my day! 5 Stars --it's the best!
I am quite satisfied with the Optimus Cool Mist Humidifier. It provides a acceptable amount of moisture on the low setting and is acceptably quiet. The large tank holds enough water for two to three nights of operation but is a little awkward to fill and clean. I am disappointed that I can not get reasonably priced wicks at my WalMart store and their web site is out of stock. Buying the wicks from Optimus on-line is not an option because they don't have on-line sales and Google doesn't help.
I like it for the most part, but the one drawback so far that I found was that it does not put out very much moisture. On the plus side that is that much less that I have to fill the tank. I do however like how it's nice and quiet. Overall a good value but rather than being able to cover a 600 sq. ft. room like it states, I would say it's more like a maximum of 400 sq. ft. room primarily due to its low output.
This unit puts out a very very fine mist, almost undetectable, which is good. There is no puddling or window condensation. The price was good but as with most units, the filters/wicks are pricey and frequently needed. There is a minor design issue. When you refill the tank you cannot set it down on a flat surface for filling because the the top is convex. So, you have to hold it while filling which can be awkward, but this is not a big issue. I use filtered water from a reverse osmosis system which will hopefully cut down on mineral deposits. It is nicely quiet even on high speed operation. I have had mine for about a month now and I hope that it works just as well 9 months from now. After trying other brands over the last 2 years, this unit outperforms in a grand way. I just purchased an additional unit for another room.
Everything worked fine except the on/off switch, which came apart in my hands after the unit was filled. So, I ran it and it did well. Apparently an assembly issue.
The package arrived quickly and in one piece. However, the tank leaks, the base leaks, the dial broke off in my hand when turning it off. I cannot recommend this product!
Product came dirty in box with broken knob. Obviously was a returned item relabeled and shipped to me. extremely disappointed. I would never use Walmart online again.
I bought 2 of these. 1 wasn't even completely put together. The fan part screws were loose. The knob didn't even come attached when trying to put it on it just tore. Very cheap not worth money.
Ordered online and when I opened the box the power knob was broken off. We decided to try it out anyway before ordering another one. We got it all set up and used a needle nose pliers to turn it on but something didn't seem right. It sounded like it was more defective than just the switch. Overall it seemed pretty cheaply made so we went with a different brand.
