They are very easy to germinate, they have a great flavor, they are the best I have tried and very easy to make.
Makes me feel like I'm doing myself a favor to eat them, and also very delicious. I mix them with millet sometimes.
If you haven't tried kaniwa, or even if you have never heard of it, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. You won't be disappointed!
Just found out about kaniwa and Food to Live was the only place I found that sells it in 5 lbs. (and larger) quantities. This was my first time buying from Food to Live and it won't be the last -- reasonable prices, fast shipping, and larger quantities -- what more could anyone ask for?
I love the available selection of unique foods. A fascinating study shows doing nothing other than eating 1 cup of 33 different plants improves your biodiversity. This has been true for me and I'm often looking for unique varieties like this to supplement my current menu.
Kaniwa is easy to prepare and tastes delicious. It is more fluffy, similar to quinoa, rather than creamy. It is a new taste for me, and I like it! The quality of grain is excellent! I highly recommend this grain.
I ordered these because I had never heard of them and wanted to add to my emergency food supply. I cooked some up and YUM! I did it as porridge and it can also be used as a savory dish. No bitterness, more of a nutty flavor. Reminds me a bit of Teff
I am delighted to find another gluten free seed. I enjoy its taste and look forward to experimenting with it in various recipes.
We eat a Whole Food Plant Based Diet. When I saw these Organic Kaniwa Seeds, I was intrigued. After doing some research about them on the internet, I decided to order 10 pounds of them. The flavor reminds me a little of the hot Roman Meal cereal my mom made when I was a kid. (I have been GF for a number of years due to my thyroid, so I haven’t had Roman Meal cereal for a very long time, but eating the Kaniwa brought back those memories.) We are enjoying the Kaniwa seeds, and I will probably continue to order them.
I love this new grain. They don't require rinsing. I just cook them up in two parts liquid (water or almond milk) to one part grain. In about 20 minutes I get a nutty, delicious breakfast cereal that surpasses my usual teff or quinoa. Love it!
