Spelt is hard to find; we love buying your organic spelt in bulk and freezing it in 1 pound portions. We enjoy it plain and as a rice substitute. Nutty and chewy and so healthy!
Freshly stoneground organic spelt berries make an excellent vegan porridge with a little molasses and cashew milk. I need to consult Asian cuisine to give it more flavor. Spelt berries are less hard and easier to grind than wheat. I prefer spelt to kamut for porridge. I like Italian farro, but it's Not whole grain.
These are really good spelt berries which I’ve used so far for three delicious 100% spelt sourdough loaves. The berries are clean, uniform in size, and delivery was fast. I couldn’t be more pleased!

Just made my first loaf of yummy bread with my spelt berries. The Order came really fast ! I just wish there is a more eco friendly packaging. I give a 4* for packaging. Everything else is a 5!
I had been looking for Spelt berries and found them on your site.The site was easy to navigate and the berries arrived in a timely manner. I haven't tried them yet which is why I rated as a 4 and I'm sure they will go well with the einkorn I purchased. Can't wait to mill and bake!
Spelt can vary so much from different growers. This spelt grain has extreme moisture. I can feel and see it. The flour is fluffy and almost steamy right afterwards. As a result, it isn't going to keep as the taste is even a little off because of the moisture, which means it won't store well. Its gluten value is very low on this one too, so I will not be able to make bread with it. But, if you're looking for spelt flour that makes great pancakes, cake, quick breads, muffins, etc., this spelt is fantastic, as it is very much like light cake flour! I will be going back to my regular source for spelt because it makes both yeast bread and cake-like items. It's just not organic and that's why I was hoping this spelt from Food to Live would work. Everything else I've gotten from them is terrific, from whole grain barley to delicious green lentils!
Spelt berries were not very clean. Many of berries have husk on it. Not very pleasant to eat.
