Work's wonderful but batteries die a little fast

The battery life isn't log on this thing. Got my daughters 11/6. Literally died today. She enjoyed it while it lasted.
This is really cute, but kids just don't play with them long. My niece just got this and has already stopped playing with it. She complains that it goes off constantly and she tried hiding it in a drawer, but it still annoyed her.
Over 10 days and no refund yet!
When we got this one, it wouldn't allow her to press the timer, and only is stuck on the egg. never hatching.
