I have tried several nitrate free lunchmeat products and this one gave me a good amount for the price. I normally pay at least a dollar more for this type of lunchmeat. It was not over salted like many tend to be and I found the flavor to be good. I found no problems with the 6 packs I have purchased over the past several weeks and I plan to continue buying this brand. I also like that it has no added proteins like soy which is a cheap filler and which I am allergic to. Good product for the price. My picky sister even likes it!
To be honest, I've tasted better; but the fact that this product has such few ingredients, no flavorings (aka msg) and no added nitrates or nitrites was a big deal for me. The pack is small and doesn't really give good value. I've tried other deli meats and loved the way they tasted, but this one gives me a little more peace of mind; knowing that I'm not feeding preservatives, additives and other toxins to my family. I do wish they'd make a better value pack.
When two out of three bites of your sandwich contain gristle, it's time to throw the meat in the trash and then buy something else. Yuck.
