This is the best electric skillet! I had two of another brand when I got married 18 years ago. Been without them for a while because they wore out. Finally went out and found this one. I liked it before I even used it because of the length and depth. Extremely nonstick. I have made bacon several times and hamburgers. Looking forward to cooking more with it.
A FABULOUS product ! Technology has leaped forward in the last 20-years, and this new Oster electric skillet is far SUPERIOR to skillets from 20-years ago !!!! A GREAT VALUE for the price charged by WalMart !!!
its perfect good size n its really non stick i cooked fried chicken n just let ut sit n cook and it didnt stick. really easy to clean im getting another one when i get paid.
The size is amazing and the surface is equally amazing.
I love my pan except the way the lid opens the moisture runs towards the plug.
You would think for such a pricey electric skillet that the lid would have a way to vent steam. My $35 electric skillet does though. I almost burnt my hand taking the klid off because there is no way to vent the steam. Otherwise good skillet for making bigger size meals. Has a short cord too.
So just moved in to a tiny house I had built, spent 800.00 plus on butcher block countertops!! I put down four heavy placemats and a towel before beginning to use pot, turned to 250,275 the lowest setting outside of warming we'll so hot burnt seasoning in oil ! Ok so cleans out started again with warm temp only , went ok , put sauce and sausage with meatballs all together, kept on warm because to hot on any temps, runs must hotter then normal 275 !!! As it cooked I turned off to mix unfortunately did not notice every thing in lid (that pulls up only on one side ) it all pours down sides and doesn't stay on top so cannot open at all without loosing your food preparing. What finish me off , the sauce from top leaked so badly my brand new countertops are stained !!! Only moved in 3 weeks ago !! So upset and sick , beyond disappointed in how this product worked!!
This is the third electric skillet I've brought from Oster. I always love them that's why I went back and bought it again. But within a couple of months the Teflon coating started to come off it bubbled up on the bottom and I'm almost afraid to use it because I don't want to be eating Teflon. I didn't keep my receipt because I didn't think I would need it. The place I bought it doesn't want to take it back without a receipt. I'm just wanting to know what my options are and if Oster will stand behind their product?
I bought this a couple months ago, and even though i dont have a stove i doubt ive used this electric skillet 30 times. After the first use i noticed the non stick coating starting to flake off around the rim and knew by the way the lid closes that it was not a going to last. Within the first few uses i noticed a discoloration of the non stick coating where the heating element is. Now sadly the finish is bubbling up in one of the hot spots where the discoloration first started. So even though its not a daily driver i just cant bring myself to recommend it and definitely not gonna buy another coated skillet. Going with the stainless steel!
I decided to use my big electric skillet for salmon patties instead of the stove and when I lifted the lid it had moisture on it and exploded everywhere, ceiling, my whole island, all over the floor. Not only housekeeping nightmare; I sustained burns. Our eight year old daughter witnessed incident. We were blessed five year old wasn't in area. Only second time utilizing product and fear using again.
