All my cellphones and IPad Minis have had an Otterbox. Won't have a device without one. They have always protected my phones and pads.
I bought Otterbox because of my neice's experience a few years ago in DC. At the time she was a six months pregnant attorney in DC with a toddler. One day she was hurrying from work to daycare to home and she realized at home she had lost it her phone between work and home. Her husband used find my iPhone to locate it at an intersection in Alexandria, VA, so she drove back to it. She saw her phone in it's OtterBox case in a lane of traffic, and it was run over a couple of times before it was safe for her to retrieve it. This phone was there for the better part of a hour before she got it back. The case was shattered, the iPhone intact.
The otter box feels rugged, very well protected & screen protector is great, allows for the finger print without problems & still giving the screen a very nice protective layer, the stand build in the housing is very nice for movies or YouTube and for typing emails with Bluetooth keyboard, highly recommend the defender series.
Product quality was excellent, but I had to return my case. The case was too thick around the port, so the device I wanted to plug in couldn't get connected. It would've been helpful if the opening around the port were cut out larger. Unfortunately I had to buy a slimmer case to accommodate my device.
Bought this case for a child's ipad. No amount of banging or dropping has harmed the ipad. It fits perfectly snug so the ipad is secure. The child has been made aware that it is not waterproof, but that is not an issue when common sense practices are observed. We highly recommend this case to everyone.
I have been using Otter Box products for years. I like the way they protect my iPads and smart phones that I have had over the years. I have tried cheaper cases and have been left disappointed with their quality.
I've had the otter box now just over 3 weeks. I got it because use my iPad for work. I take it into some heavy industrial places periodically and its held up extremely well so far. It is a little thick when you have the stand clipped to it, but it's not bad at all. It does become slim again when you take off the stand. As for the clear circle in the back, it's solid. Thank God because I was worried that it was literally a while leaving the back of the iPad exposed and it doesn't. It's easy to assemble and doesn't cut off the edges on your screen. I've had experiences in the past with cases not giving you full access to the screen. As of now, I would say I definitely got my moneys worth.
I like the Otter box because I can handle it and not have to worry about damaging the iPad. I did however have to modify the cover so I can use the iPad in my airplane. I mount the cover to a clamp that mounts on the yoke and then snap the iPad into it. To use other mounts I would have to take the iPad out of the Otter Box. I have been using you products for years and will continue to do so.
I'm happy with my purchase overall. I just noticed a single problem. The charging port is covered by a thick rubber. I feel like it might loosen/damage the cable and charging port over time because of the rubber's pressure trying to cover up the port. Tempted to cut it though.
I truly love all my Defender Otterbox cases - iPod, iPhone and iPad. What I have found that needs to be fixed is the iPad mini case. The hole in the backside showing the Apple logo needs to be smaller. Because it is so big the stand is not stable in the landscape (horizontal) position. The folding support does not keep the iPad securely, and the iPad mini keeps falling off the stand. See the photos below. The blue on is the iPad mini, and the black one is the iPad Air
