Excellent protection. Have already dropped several times with no damage. Even the screen protector was not cracked. On previous cases the screen protector would always crack after drops. Buying another one now for my sons new iPhone.
I've used Otter Box products for years and have always been satisfied. I bought this to use on My new iPhone 13 Pro Max. The case has a very slick back and is certainly strong enough, however I'm used to the rubber case, which is much easier to grip. I have no issues with the case, it's just not practical for me.
I bought this case for my new iPhone 13 Pro Max. It took about a week to get here. I have to say it was one of the more difficult cases to put on the phone. Once the case is on the phone, it's pretty nice. Overall it's a fairly slim design and offers protection from all sides. All of the mag safe accessories work well with this case. I had no problems putting a screen protector on as well.
First off, It does exactly what its main purpose is. I dropped my almost immediately because I'm a clumsy goober and it fell about 4 of 5 feet to the ground. It survived with no damage, not even a nick on the case itself. Second is the MagSafe compatibilty. I've attached this to six different MagSafe chargers and have had no issues to speak of. They all charged through the case and fit to them snuggly. The button overlays work fine and the screen protector I use (a Spigen EZ Fit) fit perfectly with it. All of that said, there seem to have been subtractions from the last time I bought an Otterbox case (a Defender for iPhone X). The grip material doesn't work anywere near as well as it predecessors and it no longer extends to the back of the case or the camera ring. It only lines the outer edges of the phone. This means that if you set it on any sort of incline it will slide right off of it. It slides into your pocket easier, but the same applies to everything else as well. That's the major problem I have with this case. The lesser issue that I have with it is that they did away with the belt clip. This doesn't bother me as much since I only sparingly used it myself, but the option was still there before. They have subtracted these two features, but charge the same introductory price. Mostly because of the lower quality of the grip material and absence of it on parts of the case, I can't recommend this product
I had to put the cover on twice and it was 5 minute project of trial & error each time. Instructions diagram were of no help. Issues with cover. Feels slippery. The ugly green edge makes it hard to determine which end is top. For a week or so, I touched the screen to see which end was top. See pic attached, was best solution. It would helpful if cover had a color tab at the top. Just a suggestion.
This version of the Defender case DOES protect my Phone well. The biggest downside which will cause me NOT to purchase it again, is the slick exterior causing it to slip and slide and fall off surfaces and be dropped often because of the slippery case. The old model was much better this way. I understand why Otterbox would want to make a slimmer case, but I'd rather the bulkiness and grip of the older model. If they added more grip to this case but kept the slim design, that would be an acceptable compromise. Unfortunately I'll have to go with a different case next time . I drop my phone often and I will say it does protect it well.
I bought this case primarily for the wireless charging capability and it's not charging. It'll say it's charging but every morning it's not even close to full charge.
Otterbox has gone the way of many manufactures and charging for garbage. I've been an Otterbox customer for over a decade. But this new case is horrible! There is literally no protection on the bottom sides for a drop. It's hard plastic! Don't even get me started of how hard the case is to separate when new. This is just garbage for an extreme price. There is also no real protection for the cameras also, just a hard lip. I hate to say this but look elsewhere.
I have always had a defender series otter box case and loved them. I wanted the phone case to be black like all the rest I've purchased and loved and the IPhone 13 cases were sold out the day I went to purchase the case. My new phone arrived yesterday and I have literally dropped it 2 times already. This phone case is so incredibly slick that it's as though it has been lubricated. The XT is nothing like the standard defender case do not be fooled !
The feel on the outside was uncomfortable, the bottom piece which covers the charging port broke off one week after purchase and the process of installing was uncomfortable with no explanation.
