Great cooler for hunting, camping. The venture 45 is just the right size for travel and would recommend as its the same quality and durability as YETI , but better value for the money. Love the accessories that you can add to the cooler and comes with bottle opener.
I'm very happy with my cooler! great quality (USA) and everyone of my friends is ordering one after they saw how long the ice last!
We bought this cooler recently and just returned from a four-day music festival were this hard box of coolness kept us sane for four days of heat and rain. The box kept the items ice cold and was easy to drain when needed. We ended up using about a bag and a half of ice the whole time to keep things fridge cold (days in the upper 80's), but this would be less if the 10 people in camp weren't continually using. I can't speak for being bear proof, but the latches kept the kids out and crayon was easy to wash off after an early-morning art session gone wry. Overall, a tad heavy, but worth what it provides - safe, cool storage of anything you desire.
The first time we used it on a Summer camping trip we had 30 beers in it with 20lbs of ice. The ice lasted 6 days, unfortunately the beer didn't make it past the 2nd day :)
Got this a week ago and the bag of ice I put in it to cool it down is still there. Just a hand full of water more than half of bag is still ice cubes! So much better than the one I had. And it's a true 45!
Purchased the Venture 45 after comparing coolers for some time. I like that it's made in The greatness country in the world! It is heavy when you get it loaded. Has some cool accessories other coolers don't offer. I put five frozen water bottles in it on 5/23/20 around 5:00pm along with some beverages from the refrigerator. Bought a ten pound bag of ice on 5/24/20 around 10:00am. With some help, hauled it to the beach and stayed in full sun for six hours(86 degrees). The photo taken was from 5/31/20. Added two cups of ice during this time period(nine days) .I'm in Hot and Humid South Carolina . This is one heavy NICE cooler. I highly recommend it .
I wanted to have a cooler that didn't make ice soup after the first day, was made in the US, and didn't get caught up in the NRA drama. This fit the bill! As a bonus, my 4 year old daughter can operate the latches. This cooler has already made it on a few trips with us, and it fits well in the back of our car. My only complaint is the retaining strap on the drain. It is very rigid and is annoying to use.
I got this on Friday morning and used it starting the following Sunday morning for a 9 day camping trip in Bakersfield/Taft, California area. 3 20 pound bags of ice instead 6 bags. I kept it in a folding wood box because I recreate Middle Ages.
After 7 days and nights of normal outdoor use in the summer with a mix of sun and shade, there is still a remnant of ice, and I am thoroughly content with the way this cooler has performed for my family. Ice started 2/3rds full, keeping dry goods and cans cold and usable, and I expect this cooler to hold up for my family for the next 20 years. If the locking straps ever fail, I know I can go to Otterbox for a replacement because they are a reputable company. May I recommend decking out your new cooler with your favorite stickers? Add some flair to it, because it it's not going anywhere until it gets stolen or accidentally dropped into the bottom of a lake ❤️☀️✨.
Couldn't get drain plug from not leaking and tough to get tight
