I use this every day for making art: I am a watercolor and colored pencil artist, and it is important to have clear light to see the colors I'm using and where I'm putting them. I originally purchased the light because I also cut vinyl decals for small businesses; weeding the tiny extraneous vinyl pieces was difficult without proper lighting. I was using a different OttLite - one with a head kind of like a spotlight - it was doing a great job (don't get me wrong, it's an OttLite!!), but this particular model has the long paddle type light that can illuminate a larger area on your workspace. I also like how the paddle can be twisted back and forth, along with moving the actual arm of the light closer to my work surface. If there were going to be a Glow LED 2.0 - something that would make me definitely buy a second one of these lamps - it would be giving the two folding joints of the lamp (that fold like elbows) the ability to move around with more flexibility (more like shoulders). I can twist the paddle back and forth if I want light in different areas, but I think giving the entire arm that same mobility would be powerful. I would also give that arm more length, with an extendable capability. I would gladly trade the novelty of the color changing base for these capabilities.
I saw this light on the NAPPA and knew that I had to use it. I want to give the best and healthiest products to my children and when I saw healthy lighting I knew I had to give it a try. It's never too early to make sure that your kids have the best. My kids love the fact that it changes to fun colors and they use it as a nightlight. It also has a USB charger built right in which is super awesome. I have been recommending to everyone!
I am blown away by how much I love this lamp. I use the color changing base as a nightlight and the different brightness settings are great for when I'm working under it. Is it weird that I literally feel more productive while working with this? The USB feature is really fun also!
I just bought another OttLite and I love it just as much as the others. This one is in my daughters room and she loves it. The glow feature is great for bedtime and I can charge her ipad while she is sleeping. It's adjustable both in height and lighting brightness. All in all another great OttLite.
Quality of product and features are excellent. Well worth the money.
Bought this for my Teen. I'm always going around turning lights when she is reading. Telling her that she'll ruin her eyes if she doesn't use a light when reading. Smile. I bought last Christmas (7 months ago) this light because it was pretty and thought she would like it and WANT to turn it on. Now every time I go into her room and she is at her desk, this light is ON! I'm so happy. I honestly think it is the pretty colors, BUT, she has commented how bright it is and that she likes it. Hurrah for OttLite for making such a nice light that appeals to teens and is great for reading and doing homework!
