This product is every bit as good as any French Press coffee maker that I've owned. One feature that sets it apart is the grounds "catcher". With that being said, I still have a few grounds "seeping" through causing the coffee to have some sediment. It's great quality and very sturdy. And pulling out the grounds makes for a much easier clean up. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I Love this French press! A delicious brew of coffee for my iced coffee drink and ready to go in the fridge in 5 minutes. The groundslifter makes clean up so simple. My old French press required a spatula to scrape around the glass container but this one just requires a lift and a compacted mass of coffee goes right into my compost. If the coffee isn't coarse ground,a filter might be needed when decanting the coffee ( personal experience!). A similar French press to most but the groundslifter is a game changer! I was sent the OXO Brew 8 Cup French Brew Coffee Maker to review and I'm am very impressed. It is a very stylish and fits with my other stainless appliances. It is a compact size so it fits easily in a cupboard when put away. This coffee maker would also be perfect in a travel trailer! The instructions call for coarse ground coffee to be used, however, I only had fine grounds on hand. It still worked great and I didn't get any grounds in my cup. Clean up was a breeze and all the parts are easily removed to be rinsed/washed. I highly recommend this coffee maker! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This was my first time using a french press coffee maker. I decided to brew the max 8 cups of coffee. It is easy to figure out and use. First I added in the ground coffee onto the silicon press container. Drop it into the glass carafe. Then I added hot water just on top of the coffee slowly. During this time I wait upto 4 minutes for a stronger brew. It is nice to be able to control how long you can let it steep for. After waiting all I had to do is secure the cap then press down firm and slow until the whole piece touches through the carafe. It is so simple to pour the coffee through the side filter of the pitcher and done. It is a fast process to clean up the carafe as well. The handle is sturdy and well designed to lift out the grounds and dump out. Quick to use and quick to clean up! Love this new coffee option! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was eager to try and make French press coffee with this coffee maker. It was easy to use and has been easy to maintain. I've had to use less water than the instructions say; using 8 cups sees the grounds too close to the plunger. When this happens you find the occasional grains in your cup of coffee. The grounds lifter works well and the everything except the plunger base is easy to clean(ground get in then mesh) but that one factor isn't a deal breaker! As longtime aficionados of French Press coffee, we were intrigued by this new OXO product which includes a "grounds lifter." The glass carafe sits in a secure stainless steel base with a very comfortable, solid black molded plastic handle; and the cover with plunger are made of the same sturdy plastic material. After making the first pot of coffee in this new coffeemaker, we were truly impressed with how perfectly the grounds are held in the lifter and stay intact for disposal ... either for compost or in the trash. Most important - in addition to all of the above great features - we each enjoyed a delicious large cup of after-dinner decaf coffee made in this pot. Leave it to OXO to develop this creative addition to the concept of French Press coffee! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I've always wanted a French press, in so happy to have one now. I first completely disassembled it so I could wash it. While it was easy to take apart, I should've paid closer attention to the way the filter pieces were supposed to be. My first use I got some ground left in my cup of coffee. After that I put it right so grounds in my cup wasn't an issue. The coffee is nice and strong using the “recipe” on the package. I need to lessen that amount for when I want to only make one or two cups. I look forward to making some cold brew coffee for iced coffee in the warmer months. Used it once cause I didn't get how it worked and the pushing down and the coffee kept getting into the clean coffee which isn't suppose to happen. Love the style of it with the chrome and how modern it is. I like some of the other company's that have these plastic cheap looking ones. Over all great product for someone who knows how to use it lol! I would recommend it for others for sure. But for me no lol! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Like every other OXO product that I've tried, this French Press is well-designed and sturdy. The Groundslifter feature is a clever innovation which really does result in easier cleanup with less mess. No more scooping up or scraping out the used coffee grounds when you are finished--simply pull out the Groundslifter to remove the used grounds. It's not perfect-- there are still a few grounds left behind-- but cleanup is definitely much faster than with any other French press that I've used. The only reason I did not give this product 5 stars is because hand-washing is recommended. If I could simply place all of the parts on the top rack of the dishwasher, then cleanup would truly be a breeze. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I've been using my OXO coffee press for the last two weeks and it makes amazing coffee! The grounds lifter is great for getting the grounds off of the bottom of the carafe and into the trash! There are still remaining grounds on the sides, but they are easily rinsed out. This French press has a permanent place on my counter! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
