Worth every cent! I had my hopes up to put a full-sized 1up 40th Anniversary Pac Man on layaway once Walmart started doing that. I can't afford it right out. I was so disappointed when I got to my local store and was told my local Walmarts weren't doing layaway this year! So, I compromised with this Countercade. It just came in the mail (2 days after ordering it--so much faster than Amazon). I LOVE IT! This price is much more affordable than the full-sized ones, and it delivers all the experience. It clearly has the same construction and quality as the big ones. The sound is phenomenal. The cabinet is super heavy-duty. It has a clear plexi-glass cover over the controls, so it will last a long time. I don't know why some people have complained about the screen size--it is PERFECT for the size of this unit. Gamers can be some of the most critical people on earth. Ignore some of them--they're never gonna be happy. It truly delivers the arcade experience in a scaled-down size that is easier to store and affordable RIGHT NOW. I wasn't going to have my layaway paid off until December. Best of all, this has 4 games on it...more than any other Countercade, I believe. The full-sized one has 7 games, all of which are Pac Man versions plus Galaga. This has Pac Man and Pac and Pal (which I would argue is the best alternate version to have, if you can only have one more). It also has Galaga PLUS Dig Dug! So, it has TWO completely different games on it vs. the 1 other game of the full-sized. More bang for your buck, I say. This is nothing short of high quality and adorable! I collect handheld and tabletop games, and this is by far the best one I now own.
Lots of fun! Brings back lots of memories. Have to be careful not to touch the buttons on the left when playing Galaga, because it restarts the game. Pacman and Pal is dumb. Ms. Pacman would have been better. Galaga, Pacman and Dig Dug are exactly they way they were when I was feeding quarters to the machines in 7/11s and and malls! Nice to have a compact unit that can sit on the end of the bar in my basement!
Neat little console. A little smaller than I'd imagined for the money, but it seems sturdy. It was packed well and arrived really quickly. Nice that it comes with 4 different games. Only minus was there was not a lot of documentation as to how to play the various games come with it. Like what the object is and tips on how to proceed. I had to research the games online. I'm sure my grandkids will love playing this.
This is the best gift ever for a 4 year old boy! Oh my! And now all his Uncles are playing the game with him with fond memories of their youth! I love this purchase!
My family loves these games. We now have four homes with this game and they plan on having challenges between the four homes and eight players. So far the game has not over heated nor have we seen any glitches. Great for family fun.
This thing keeps the family entertained Old and young enjoy the games.
Love this machine. Brings back memories from my youth with the original Coleco tabletop that used DD batteries. You have 4 games to choose from. Which it was a better selection but great all together. Where's the Donkey Kong machine?
A ton of fun. Small enough to move around or store away. Worth every penny. Only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is I am not a fan of LCD screens. I would buy again.
This game looks good and like the real thing. i am giving this as a gift to my grandson and will find out how good it is. The shipping was fast and free but in Hawaii but they hit you with a handling charge..... nothing free when you live in Hawaii.
The pump/shoot button is on the right. Most people are right handed and use this for the function that requires the most control. I cross my hands to play it, but that is not as good. They should make one of the buttons on the left usable as a pump/shoot button.
